"Apple manufacturer Wistron will hire 10,000 employees for the local production of iPhone 12.
  • The company has already hired 2000 employees and will function from its plant in Narasapura in Karnataka.
  • The local production of iPhone SE is also slated to begin at the end of this year.
Wistron, Apple’s Taiwanese manufacturer, has started the hiring processes for the local production of iPhone 12 components in India. The Made in India iPhone 12 will be out by the middle of next year, a report by Business Standard stated. Wistron has planned to invest over 2,900 crores in India to ramp up the efforts for the local production of iPhone."

With Bangladesh assembling note 20 and India iPhones, south asia seems to be slowly crawling into mass manufacturing of mobiles.

10k employees is good for the local economy.

Its really a good news.
This is a high time for government to step in and remove the road blocks for semiconductor manufacturing.
Its now or never, just impose heavy duty on any electronics import and provide free hand to private sector.

its good news for India but bad for apple. now apple market will drop and there will be very easy to find apple genuine parts for repair.:crazy::dance3:

Interesting, looks like the region is set to be next electronics manufacturing hub alongside Thailand and Vietnam.

Bangladesh has been manufacturing Samsung devices for a while now, amongst other companies, they've also started manufacturing PCBs.
