Nope - the justification was geographical continuity - not Hindu majority. Just like Jinnah tried his best to get the Kings of Bikaner and Jaisalmer to sign a Treaty of Accession with Pakistan despite knowing that they had a Hindu majority.

Well Kashmir was legally ceded to India by there erstwhile ruler Raja Hari singh ( a hindu), our people died defending it from a militia and army backed up by Pakistan.
