In the event of war, does the army have authority to take over property? I heard in the Cantt area, the property is owned by people but technically it's under the army. So if war is to occur, they'd be using the property for the time.

Also is the DHA run by army as in institution or it's some retired general? I'd prefer to help army out with profits before Malik Riaz.

In war Armed forces have right to take over anything. Even it can take reserves to buy defense weaponry or can sell the assests to get more money for war. Its in constitution. So even if you buy non property from non military schemes it can be taken over then too. Yes DHA is under armies control or at least survelliance. Its very safe. I would suggest DHA .

I don't know why you spread so much filth against central punjabis. I can post dozen videos of mujra from Chakwal so its not central punjab only. If you are shia then i don't know what to say, then i can understand your pain. Even thouhg shias are mostly attacked by TTP.

As many said already, do not invest in unknown housing scheme. To much risk for overseas Pakistani.

80% of potoharis are village pendus according to last census, Islamabad is federal capital dominated by central punjabis. Rawalpindi have so many ethnic groups that potohari may barely make majority in city.

on topic I agree with most people here this is from experience. as long as you buy property in reputable societies such as DHA you are pretty safe and ur investment does increase in value. do not take risks especially if u live outside.

So I want to invest in Pakistan, but advised not to by almost everyone here. Their reason being is Kabza mafia. Since the mafia knows we're foreigners and have no time to fight a lenghty court battle about the ownership of property, they happily take over it. Plus if all else fail, they threaten to kidnap/kill if the owner visits Pakistan.

When I lived in Pakistan, this guy who was building the house died. So these 2 families (pakhtoon) fought over ownership of dead man's land, saying it belonged to them. Funny thing is, the two were also distance relatives and neighbours.

I prefer to invest in peshawar/adjoining areas.

If by property you mean Land, then its the best and safest investment. Land prices continue to appreciate irrespective

Admit it, these Chaudharies and Butts call the shots in both Potohar and Seraiki waseb. Don't make up stats out of your arse. Even Islamabad city itself is Potohari majority, let alone RWP. And obviously I'm not preaching kicking out of Punjabis, I just want us to be another province within Pakistan. Some 90 million people are governed by a handful of Lahoris and GT road belt guys, which is not fair. Hazara, Potohar, Seraiki region, northern Balochistan, FATA all need to be separate provinces.

PS: Islamabad is the capital. It wouldn't go to a Potohar province.

Yeah good for you buddy. No one is telling you to divide Punjab. It's just that we are not Punjabis, and the land where we live is not Punjab. It was forcibly made a part of "Punjab" by Ranjit Singh as was Himachal Pradesh and Haryana in India. Corrupt Punjabi politicians are victimizing us and stealing our resources.
