When you will test your internet speed on speedtest .net, it will show double or triple speed (in most of isps), but with download manager it will be real speed,

In Pakistan, according to speedtest site, average internet speed in Pakistan is near 15mb, but in reality average speed is near 4mb, because ISPs in Pakistan scam, when you test your speed, it will show double or triple, speedtest site think this is avg speed, but in reality isps faking speedtest result.

In my city, fber internet provider is reseller of this stupid isp, owner of this isp think people only browse and use facebook only.

That is because when you speedtest it usually connects you with a server that is located in Pakistan that is why higher download/upload streams. You can manually select a server in speedtest though and try to speedtest to a server located in lets say Germany, it will give you much better idea about the speeds that your ISP is giving you.

Also the download you are showing in your screenshot, that file is probably hosted on a server which gives bad speeds to users in Pakistan. So don't make baseless claims if you have no idea what you are talking about.

Also, jazz is one of the biggest culprits for 4g users it would show download speed in excess of 39mbs but actual numbers were a mere 5mbs

Problem is majority of users get confused with MBs. Actually ISPs are not faking anything, they sell and advertise their product and packages in MBs which stands Megabit but when we download we measure that speed in Megabytes or Kilobytes which is bigger than Megabit. If you want to have speed of 1 Megabyte per second then you should have at least 10 Megabit package
And fir speed test part it shows and measures speed in Megabit and Kilobit

I am using Internet from Dial UP connection days,
They faking speed test results, its mean when you check on speedtest site, it will even show 10-12 mb,but in real it will be less than 4mb,i am not saying all isps are doing same, but most of isps doing this in Pakistan, they even decrease speed in evening, there are tools to cheat speed test.

they are resumeable links and speed is good there,i even check different sites.

You did not understand what i said,

i said if you get 4mb connection, so speed in download manager should be 500+ kbps,
but in evening or night, they will give you 200-400 kbps with Download Manager (means 2-3 mb), and in day may be 3+mb .

But in speedtest they cheat, how, when you browse speedtest net, it will even show few seconds 10-12 mbps, when speed is not above 4mb, even half.

when you complain they will say check speedtest, and when you will show them with download manager speed, they will ask team viewer and in the end they will say this is due to peak times.

Over here I was wondering, should I upgrade my 100 Mbps to 200 Mbps or pay extra $20/m for 1.2 Gbps.

Than I realized I Don’t even need $100 Mbps if I turn off my VPN. But I know big brother is watch us all, so be safe than sorry.

Speed aside, PTCL wireless router sucks. Last time I was in Pakiland. That shit box wasn’t even properly projecting signal to second floor.

I think there is some truth to this allegation. I switched my internet to AT&T over here. Which were still offering old DSL type internet. I was unhappy with the speed. AT&T tech came and told me to run speed these on ookla speed test.net. I get speed as advertised. But at the same time, when I run on other test websites, I got much lower speed. I switched companies.

Mbps doesn't directly translate to the MB/s download. Look it up.

My experience has been very good with PTCL GPON, Stormfiber, Transworld and Nayatel. They give speeds as advertised. Even now i get 30Mbps up/down, the speed i am paying for. Exactly that. Try to switch to one of these ISPs.

Also heard good things about Optix and Connect.

There's one more thing,

If Server, from where you are downloading the files has 10 Mbps link and you have a 1 Gbps link then your download speed won't go above servers link speed given that you are the only one downloading the files.

Indian companies are offering better speed with better rates,

But in our country Internet especially broad band is sh*t in whole country except few areas in big cities,
reason govt imposed too much taxes and they want govt company PTCL to stay in business, which is already sinking and same all govt institutes are sh*t except privates in most of times.

I can agree for Storm Fiber, Nayal Tel, they have good reputation than others, but still too much costlier than our neighboring country.

But some areas of Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and like these cities are not whole country, PTCL is always sh*t and will be always sh*t in whole country, i pray it will soon bankrupt and it is already sinking. I had PTCL 4mb connection, and last few months before disconnection, speed was not 1 mb, with download manager 60-70 kb. Most of time i was always disconnected, i daily call the head office but no solution. They always forced me to downgrade to 2mb, and then i disconnected for forever and go to private company, they are not good but better than this sh*t company PTCL. Now PTCL employs ask me to get connection, i asked them take my d*ck. In my city more than 90% people disconnected from PTCL due to sh*tty service.
