I'm totally confused by your logic. I was just saying that I agree with his opinion. how does that have anything to do with if he is Abe or not?

again, I'm still holding my realism viewpoint. China is just doing what she sees as best for her interest, and so does Vietnam, and this is nothing to blame. talking about who is "good" or "righteous" is pointless and I believe immature. the only thing that matters is who has the capability and power to execute. simple and plain.

sorry for hurting your feelings, but this is the way it works. stop whining. war will be the worst option, for both China and Vietnam, so there is room for negotiation. I don't see any point of resorting to the worst option before exploring others.

the 9-dash line appeared in the 40s, after surveying the islands and sea.

you do know that it was a period of time in history when a lot of countries emerged and a lot of borders changed through war. so those maps do not mean anything.

by the same logic, if you find a Vietnam map around that time, it won't include those islands too -- they are not even surveyed then.

again, these maps do not mean more than the maps you showed before (in terms of its influence on what's going on).

sovereign claims can only be valid under a system that recognizes such claims, just as property claims can only be valid under laws that recognize private properties. the current system was not in place until post-wwii, so far reaching claims before it are generally not automatically accepted.

they can be used for arguments though, so it's your right to show these maps and make your claims. but as long as the law of the jungle is dominating international relationships, like it is now, such arguments can hardly change anything.
