International media conspiracy to defame Bangladesh as next Taliban country

This was bound to happen actually. People like Shahriar Kabir may be very small in number but they know how to play this game. The strength of this kinds have always been media and they are using it again. Sadly this things are going to hurt our economy badly specially the RMG sector. But this "progitishil/shushil shomaj" dont really care for the interest of Bangladesh. Do they?

.
This was only a matter of time. Good to see the world can now see the face of "silent majority of Bangladesh"(As per resident PDF Bangladeshis). Fox in sheep skin, closet Islamists.

I'm sorry, but what is wrong with being an Islamist?

A month back, you posted a thread stating that Islamists (before I changed that thread's title) want Jamaat to be banned.
http://www.defence.pk/forums/bangladesh-defence/240163-olama-mashayekh-rally-jamaat-ban.html

And now they are.....how do I say...."foxes in sheep skin"? :what:

.
There are moderate Islamists, the list includes AKP of Turkey, MB of Egypt and Tunisia who are in power and there are extremists like AQ, there is a big difference between these two groups. The former, the West is willing to work with, as is shown from Arab Spring, but the latter attacks the West and in return the West want to eliminate them. Some among the HeI led group that is now protesting in Bangladesh belong to the former, but Indian and these AL supporting Bangladeshi reporters with their questionable reports are trying to paint them as extremists and make them out to be legitimate target of the West.

. .
This is true anyway as long as we have jamati cancer this probability cant be ignored.

13 demands for real disaster
React jurists, rights activists at Hefajat's conditions

Women’s empowerment will not only be severely hindered but Bangladesh will also go backward if the demands of Hefajat-e-Islam are met, observed jurists and women’s rights activists yesterday.
The Hefajat demands also go against the country’s constitution, which was formulated through upholding the spirit of the Liberation War, they said, urging political leaders to stop appeasing such reactionary groups.
Dr Kamal Hossain, chief of the constitution drafting committee set up in early 1972, said the constitution, which was formulated on the basis of national unity and the spirit of the Liberation War, still exists in the country and whatever needs to be considered has to be made in line with the ethos of the constitution.
“Anyone may demand anything, but we have to consider the context of the formulation of the constitution. We have to take a strong stance on the fundamental aspects of the constitution and preserve them,” said the eminent jurist.
Noted jurist Dr Shahdeen Malik said the 13 demands were clearly a recipe for turning the country backward.
“There will be an end to Bangladesh as we know it today if these demands are met,” he said, adding that religious organisations and political parties all seem to be coming out, probably out of a lack of understanding of social forces and social dynamics, to destroy this country.
“My apprehension is that we’ve probably reached the point of no return,” he said.
Former adviser to a caretaker government Rasheda K Choudhury said from micro-finance at the field level to export promotion, women are the driving force behind Bangladesh’s economy. Even the success stories outside the country are all about the participation of women.
“Don’t we consider these aspects? Do we want to retreat from this position?” she questioned, adding, “The political leadership will decide whether we want to go backward. We cannot afford to go backward.”
Rasheda Choudhury, who is executive director of Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE), said on the one hand, some political parties were expressing solidarity with the reactionary groups, while on the other, another one was talking about considering their demands.
“Where are the people in between? If women’s rights are not recognised, then where is democracy?” she asked.
“We want clarification of the stances of two women leaders of the two major parties with regard to whatever the reactionary groups are taking about,” she added.
Women’s rights activist Shirin Akhter said the demands would definitely push back society.
“Women have brought recognition for Bangladesh throughout the world and to bring up demands like restricting women’s mobility will not bring any good to the country.” So, she said, there was no scope to even consider the demands.
Journalist and war crimes researcher Shahriar Kabir said there was no scope to consider any of the demands as those went against Islam and the country’s constitution and were contradictory to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
“If the demands [of Hefajat-e-Islam] are met, Bangladesh will be pushed towards being an Afghanistan where there will be no values and spirit of our Liberation War,” he said.
“We never support anything that defames Islam or Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and if anyone does that, they can be tried under the existing laws.
“There is no necessity of formulating a new law,” he added.

Madx,

That really is silly examples you have given. The king of afghanistan and a tiny clique started westernising up to the sixties and then the communist again a tiny minority sought to impose atheism on Afganistan. The picture on Afganistan with the ladies was not remotely representative of the country back then. The example of the lady being executed during the Taliban rule is from a news extract. Again this was hardly common sight.

When you seek to enforce alien culture and value system the status quo will fight back. That is exactly what happened in Afgaistan and now in Bangladesh.

That does not mean BD will turn into Afganistan. Women empowerment is perfectly complementary with Islamic principals and our cultural norms.

You really are scrapping the bottom of the barrel, when all else fails target Islam by saying its anti women. BAL strategy has been rejected, hindutva plans to waken Islam has been crushed, BAL could not even hold Dhaka. BD will not turn into Afganistan as our nationalism and Islam is two sides of a coin. Only thing that has been rejected is BAL atheism and it's attempt to destroy the soul of the nation and turn in into a one party secular autocracy.

You guys should outsmart the "international media conspiracy" by nipping religious idiots in the bud.

We should outsmart indian move that sponsored hijacking Bangladesh independence from majority Bangladeshis and imposed indian branded "secularism".

In madx type understanding woman showing their body is statement of freedom. That is how much fundamental and demeaning his and indo-awami secular view.

When did I say there is anything wrong in being Islamist? Its the OP who seems to have taken offence at the usage of words like Islamists and Hard liner muslims, isn't that what this thread is about? Apparently its a global conspiracy:lol:

And about that thread which you edited, I never used the word "Islamist", I quoted the source and used (Islamic Scholars). There is a difference.

. .
Hmm... And care to provide a SINGLE example of a country where the Islamic Sharia is practiced together with women empowerment? Just give me a single example.

There is no example of a country where Shariah is practiced at all!

Bengali men and women are reasonably well educated; socio-economic and development challenges exist but country seems to be on the right path of growth

women participate in many spheres of life and there's a lot less segregation and gender inequality there than in some other Muslim majority countries

the country has a secular type of Constitution, if i'm not mistaken

so it's very difficult to see Bangla Desh become a talebanized type of country. . . it can be heavily destabilized and become a failed state but only if it's led by puppets who serve the interests of other nations rather than itself.

Despite some rather bad history with some of the older generations - we all should wish them luck.

BD has stood out as a Muslim nation untouched by "terrorist" activities. For some years now we have noted efforts by WCC - India to color BD as a Muslim extremist nation. British Intel and RAW have been caught red handed several times in this effort. Bhola expedition of British Intel, for instance. And RAW's local assets work in collusion. The reports above exposes the seriousness of their effort through international media- which they control.
