Why didnt the Americans just bomb the North Vietnam Air bases ? Why were those fighters allowed to take off engage American fighters ?

Soviet seapower sustains the two countries that are giving the U.S. the most trouble. A bridge of 150 freighters from Russian ports carries to Haiphong the SAMs, the petroleum, the rockets, the assault rifles and the ammunition that keep North Viet Nam fighting and killing U.S. soldiers. More over, it is the fear of hitting those Russian ships that has so far 'ept the U.S. from bombing Haiphong's piers or mining the harbor. And it is another bridge of Soviet ships that carries the $1,000,000-a-day in supplies that sustains Castro's Cuba as the only Communist foothold in the Hemisphere.

Shows that Vietnam had no ammunition shortage.

US bombed our air forces so hard, but we had some secret air base inside mountains , and our Mig ambushed US fighter by flying into Laos territory and then suddenly fly back to Vn territory to engage US fighter also, so US could not stop our Mig.

Longest war in US history (11 years)

"War" was never officially declared by the United States

A Cornell University study placed the over-all total U.S. cost
of the Vietnam war at $200 Billion

Total U.S. bomb tonnage dropped during:
World War II = 2,057,244 tons
Vietnam War = 7,078,032 tons (3-1/2 times WWII
tonnage)

Bomb tonnage dropped during the Vietnam War amounted to
1,000 lbs. for every man, woman and child in Vietnam.

An estimated 70,000 draft evaders and "dodgers" were living
in Canada by 1972.

An estimated 3 million people were killed by the war,
and over 1 million were wounded.

i have a problem with this statement.

"Because of the Vietnam war south easy Asia did not become a communist hot spot the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand stayed free of communist conflict because of the Vietnam war."

you cant prove that, you can make a argument but cant state it as fact

US bombed our air forces so hard, but we had some secret air base inside mountains , and our Mig ambushed US fighter by flying into Laos territory and then suddenly fly back to Vn territory to engage US fighter also, so US could not stop our Mig.

also helps that soviet advisers where in the airbases so to avoid war with the soviets, many airbases was not allowed to be attacked(bombed) by us air forces and they had to bait the Vietnamese fighter out

Vietnam is a brave country that humiliated then Super Power and Communist regional Power .
