Interceptor missile designed to destroy enemy missiles successfully tested

Something of significance is that we are slowly heading towards cannisterization of all missiles. Big step in operational efficiency and reliability and maintenance of missiles.

And it will be standard in the future, all missiles canistered and for multiple platforms like brahmos, shourya

. .
How can a single interceptor missile will judge,if there are multiple hostile missile attacks :undecided: ??

Simple you will have to have even more defensive missiles than your enemy has ballistic missiles.
You launch 3-4 missiles for 1 ballistic missile and your chances increase to more than 95%.
And the enemy has only that much nuclear warheads to expend.
A host of detection network both land and space based et cetera.

There are many chances to hit a ballistic missile, these chances are during the boost phase, midcourse phase before the apogee, the beginning of the midcourse phase after the apogee and the descent phase after the apogee.
Laser weapons can be used in the boost and midcourse phase, long ranged missiles like the S-400 for mid course and apogee, land based SAMs like THAAD, Patriot etc and ship based missiles like SM-3 that comes under the Aegis Combat System after midcourse.

India has a lot to do before complete deterrence, we still need stuff like a space based launch detection system like the SBIRS satellite constellation, and the PDV which is yet to mature, ASAT weapons, countermeasures for ASAT weapons et cetera.

Besides after scramjet vehicles like the US X-51 and the Indian HSDTV evolve ballistic missiles will be defunct.
So India needs to go into BMD coz only then will their deterrence for future weapons evolve.
