Installing CCTV cameras ‘un-Islamic’: Darul Uloom

Again...why should state take consent cor everything to people???
Because its human rights

Maulana saheb need to differentiate between privacy and public security. If it crime free society then CCTV camera is harm lol not possible...

Haha i know.

But i am just discussing and ignoring the obvious Mullah logic

Privacy and its limits are debatable, but in a business it’s the owners decision to install cctvs, you either go in or stay out.
Modern technology should be used for security purposes at every possible opportunity.

You can fantasize about living in a police state all you want.

My questions remained unanswered. Given me legal talk

.
I agree

Its unethical.

Unislamic is not the debate for me

If you can protect one innocent person from deviants, thiefs and predatory vultures because of CCTV's, I will change my stance.

That is a reflection of your society.

I am Not debating that.

I am asking for legal opinion

They will eventually ban everything for the sake of preserving the purity of religion.

There would be no enjoyment left on earth for a believer and the only salvation would be to go to heaven after death.

Pathetic..!

No wonder these clerics pray for the judgement day to come closer.

Hi,

It has nothing to do with preserving the purity of the religion----it is only for the sake of keeping themselves look important---thus securing their jobs---.

Please remember---a Moulvi, Aalim still has to feed his family first---.

Privacy is a fundamental right. But like any other right, it has reasonable restrictions. For example, if someone is smuggling something, he cant claim right to privacy to prevent a customs's officer from opening his luggage.
In any case, if a building like a mall or office has CCTV cameras there are prominent boards announcing that the place is under CCTV surveillance.

Also, CCTV cameras can't be placed in places where you will reasonably expect privacy like hotel rooms, toilets, changing rooms etc.

But there is hardly any legislation for this.

The courts must redefine definitions of consent and privacy.

. . . . .
Ofcourse.

But Security is legally defined as well and is not Open to debate
It was these very CCTV cameras that helped to catch Zainab's killer. It's not as if they are installed in your bathroom. Their is a balance between security and privacy. These cameras should be mounted in every public place because people will commit crimes and CCTV footage is of utmost importance as evidence and as deterrence.
We humans do not live in some hanky panky perfect society. This is the REAL world where criminals exist and need to be apprehended.
By your logic we should not not even scan bags in airports or pass peippe through metal scanners.
Don't blame at me when a bomb goes off next to you in a mall or airport, and the culprit cannot be traced because there were no CCTV cameras.

But are Pakistanis not humans and don't they have rights of privacy as you call them. Pakistan is not the only country suffering from crime and/or terrorism. In fact many countries are. Not just crime but traffic accidents can also be recorded. Your argument is completely invalid so please refrain from trying to further post your point. Thank You!
