Insight: Unable to copy it, China tries building own jet engine

Jet engine is very complex technology; its obvious that China is not successful yet in developing their own operational jet engine.

Their jet engine, it seems, will be ready till 2020.

The 'rightful owners' sending you over to collect them?

Claims one who likes to mishmash a Mirage with a bit of General Electronics and calling it indigenous?
come back when your country can produce anything near as decent as the J-7G without copying.
Talk asif copying and reverse engineering an aircraft is as simple of building legos

Lol J7 another reversed engineer russian design. In habit of copying russian designs and now new age starts with copying western with J31. That is why you cannot understand the difference between mirage and LCA. If you think LCA is mirage, than what about J10 and Lavi.

Better copy than delay

LCA is a mixed hot pot, hope your logistic and maintenance will operate in real war. J10 has no relations with Lavi at all, but LCA was designed under France help.

It is not what I think. It is what the people think. Does it bother you to put placed under the same light?
You would be proud if your country can get anywhere near what China is achieving right now.

Can you really claim to be better when you have access to everything, yet still fail on producing your own light weight multi-role aircraft? Mind you are not the country being sanctioned here. India should be the number two economy with the capability to develope its own 5th generation fighters by now :azn:

. .
India attributes any China aviation sucess to copy and Paste. They stand on the morale highland and mock China for what they desire to have in their dream. In terms of real war, IAF will be wiped out by PLAAF no longer than 1 week. Hopes those foreign suppliers could deliver their parts and components within time. :help:As to penalty of delay, just forget it.

The title of the thread is a put-down on China's efforts without professional proof!

What about the J-7?

As of now the J-7 are more successful than your LCA.
Your Tejas are still hanging around waiting for their indigenous "GE F414 engines" as we speak.
You think China is incapable of fault finding and over many years never learnt from its mistakes? Mind you, Jian-7 is still operational today with the latest being the J-7G variant:

If the J-10 is so poorly designed, we would not be producing; J-10B, J-10S and developing the J-10AH variant. Instead, we would be stuck with the J-7 and we would probably be knocking on India's door for some 'Tejas 101'.

Thankfully, it was the India doing just that, knocking on westerner's doors, fearing Pakistan's JF-17 and China's J-10

Exactly! Our J-7 was an adaptation from MiG-21 which is still in service in PLAAF today. We have also had it exported to many countries.

india bought a lot of the jets from the Soviet Union but iaf's crash rate involving MiG-21 is appalling. It is dubbed a "Flying Coffin".

In 1961, the Indian Air Force (IAF) opted to purchase the MiG-21 over several other Western competitors. As part of the deal, the Soviet Union offered India full transfer of technology and rights for local assembly. In 1964, the MiG-21 became the first supersonic fighter jet to enter service with the IAF....and also invest heavily in building the MiG-21's maintenance infrastructure and pilot training programs. By 1969, India had acquired more than 120 MiG-21s from the Soviet Union.

The safety record of the IAF's MiG-21s has raised concern in the media.[8] One source estimates that in the nine years from 1993 to 2002, the IAF lost over 100 pilots in 283 accidents. During its service life, the IAF has lost at least 116 aircraft to crashes, with 81 of those occurring since 1990. On 29 February 2012, it was reported that India may phase MiG-21s out by 2014.

J-7 is one of our many marvels. Mig-21 is iaf's tragedy and haunting shame!

Who said Indian don't copy a bullet from china? They copies china in population to economic. Now Indian government regime is copying the fascist from hitler.

J7BGI export to BD. with 40 years past, where is Indian type of Mig-21? China prevail India in aviation industry, period!

We went on to the J-10 platform because we genuinely felt it was time to move on. We have the necessary infrastructures and experience to support such a venture. India, on the other hand, were inspired after crashing most of their Mig-21s.
Three decades have passed, they are still trying but are forced to spend money on foreign engines.
What was supposed to be Indigenous are now nothing but a distant dream. At least then can lay claim on the paint.

.
I mean how you gonna build a 4 gen fighter if you cant maintain or upgrade MIG-21 by your own. It's like a frog leap.

.
The only funny thing here is your inability to understand the importance of satisfying our own demands before others.
First of all, we have look ensure that we are producing enough before we sell them. Even Russians do the same with their S-400. It is unlikely that they will sell that until they have produced enough to satisfy its own demand. Therefore it is unlikely for anyone to obtain them any time soon. Not too hard to understand right?

Is not making embarrassing announcement that it is only good enough to power small drones not good enough for you?

By the way, since when did LCA become a small drone?

95KN are useless to us. The WS-13 are already comparable to that and WS-13A betters that.
95 KN trust useless to us thats why your JF-17 plane carries Russian Engines because you aren't able to develop one fro your own aircraft and claiming you made higher trust engine,

Wow man one can say , Made has ability to reach pluto but cant reach moon.

What a Chinese , Cant make car engines but can make formula one engines .....oh hight of knowledge.

I have no trouble with India buying what they think is the best technology. Chance are they will never get the best unless it is domestically produced by the user. Problem here is, India cannot produce anything comparable to what the west are willing to put on the table. Therefore India have little choice but to accept whatever is on the offer that is affordable and is the best for them.
we have raffle , Euro Fighter, US F-35 and in future F-22 also will be on table.

How did you know what material went into the F-22?

Do you really think a country that is 'publicly' is testing two versions of stealth aircraft cannot produce a better body for a light-weight multi role fighter? Truth is we are not bothered with the light-weight multi-role platform. Hence we stuck by our J-10s, 11s, 15s and 16s.

When russian tested t-50 you said it wont be stealth because it has round engine and now when you have round engines it become stealth , wow man ,

what a typical indian cheerleading bragger! USA is very discriminatory in selling their cutting edge weapons

F-22 will never be sold until their next gen fighters are safely in place. F-22s are not sold to the closest allies in UK and Israel
F-35s are sold to the next line of alliance
india - when has you been upgraded to be qualified on the customers list of above us jets? in the next 50 years perhaps

all your weaponry procurement prices are hugely inflated. Be proud of that.

.
BTW guys, can someone provide me with a link or something to show the J10 spin recovery and wake tests? or it is flying with restricted envelope even after induction? A video would be better.

Bragging is what we are learning from you, the way you guys braggg about your russian/western look alike fighter planes with advanced avionics, AESA radar and WS123...13..15 high thrust vector engines.
