What? Mp3 players in a submarine? Armed forces are proffesional, take which ever country.

In submarines you work in shifts. What would you do in your spare time ?

Dont tell me fighter pilots listens to mp3 while .....

I guess we have the best in its class ... Russians have always preferred to have top class Nuclear subs in their arsenal as against the Americans who went the Aircraft carrier way ....

Ok I dont know about submarine life. But still I think they should be well rested during their free time. They can have all the fun in bases.

Exactly ? Haven't u guys seen documentaries of life inside submarine etc ?

If suppose a SSN can remain submerged for like 100 days, practically considering 12 hour shifts also, a crew member will be free for like 50 days. Excluding his sleep times, he should be free for like 550 hours during this whole mission. Wtf is he gonna do ?

If his mind is not fresh how can u guarantee that the crew will work with full potential after say 40 days into the mission ?

Even i wish we had 10 super carriers with 700 naval aircrafts to rule the oceans..but we cant. Still we are making baby steps to build our own AC.

navy should sign a deal with apple to supply ipods so our men dont get bored

dude the ins vikrant is gonaa complete construction this year and commissioned in 2014 and vikramaditya is arriving in mid 2012 and viraat will be in service till 2017. so india will have 3 ac by 2014. and all arihant subs program have to be completed by 2015. with ins aridhman out for sea trials this year. basically india will have 3 ac and 5-6 nuke subs by 2015 not 2020.

I am from cochin and Viraat always come here for maintenance. It is said that All new kinds of Jugaad is tried on Viraat. Its a miracle that the ship is held together after so many years.

yes ur right sea trials will go on but ther will be 5 nuke subs will be in our seas by 2015-16. even if they will be on sea trials its gonaa enough reason for our enemies to pee in their pants. ins arihant is on sea trials right now and ins aridhman is already out this year and nxt sub starting construction immediately and whole program if on time will be completed by 2015.
