Su30 has it roots in the Su27UB trainer. In essence it started out as a long range two crew plane back in late 80s.I thought MKI would have a single seat version as well.

Aah..The MKI is actually ar Su30M , which was always a multi role/mission Af. You could find its bro from the western sphere- the F15E strike eagle. When the need comes, You can fight your way in-deliver firepower in enemy territory and fight your way out.I always knew that it was a long range strike variant with a tandem seat etc. I was under the impression that IAF would have single seat air dominance variant, given the outstanding maneuverability of this aircraft.
