Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia recorded transactions worth US$4.74 billion at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) held in Shanghai, China, on Nov 5-10.

Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita noted in a written statement that the transaction revenue demonstrated the potential for an increase and expansion of Indonesian exports to China.

"This (big transaction value) is preliminary evidence that Indonesian products have the potential to attract more Chinese consumers. I am certain this is just the beginning, as there will be more potential for future cooperation," Lukita noted on Saturday.

The superior products that attracted Chinese importers comprised margarine, coal, plastic, coffee beans, swallow`s nest, palm oil and its derivatives in the form of oleo fatty acids and oleo chemical; and the potential for cooperation in the electronic commerce sector.

According to Lukita, the government always strives to establish profitable cooperation with entrepreneurs in each partner country.

"We always strive that at every working visit, the Indonesian government`s representatives not only meet with officials in the destination country but also with the entrepreneurs in order to have a business forum. We are grateful that in Shanghai there were so many participants attending the forum," the trade minister remarked.

The Indonesia-China Business Forum and business matching, initiated by the Indonesian Ministry of Trade in collaboration with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) held on the sidelines of the CIIE, successfully attracted several Chinese entrepreneurs.

Of some 300 participants attending the forum, some 190 were partners from China and 130 participants were from 54 Indonesian companies and agencies.

Through the business forum, the Chinese entrepreneurs were introduced to the economic potential, strengthening infrastructure, wealth of natural resources, and human resources dealing with businesses owned by Indonesia.

Good job. I think Asia has a lot potential for trade and such opportunities should be availed. If EU can protect European trade, why not Asians do the same to benefit themselves and not get exploited by non-Asians.

Congratulations to the Indonesian companies for securing big value orders in China. In many cases, companies particularly small and medium ones are struggling to find customers but because their products are not attractive but because they don’t have the resources and connection to the market. The CIID is designed to provide such a venue where foreign enterprises can meet the Chinese buyers and showcase their best the products.

Indonesia is already a trillion economy and has a huge population. It has a lot of potential. Indonesian just need to find the correct partner and can further expand more....

If its not haram to consume any parts of a bird, then birds nest is halal, because its made solely from the coagulatified saliva of a swallow
And not all birds are halal... specially ones who use their feet/claws to eat.. birds of prey etc..

China coal power station is the most efficient in the world. The amount of co2 produce is lesser than European standard. Coal power station are easy to setup compare to nuclear or natural gas. Even if nuclear fission is available, I can forsee, coal will still be used but in much limited amount.
