Why should India object to anyone buying JF-17. Countries buying this crap fighter plane are wasting their precious defence budgets without any threat to India. India should be happy. Problem will be if they buy good equipment from Russia or Western countries.

As i mentioned elsewhere, India for such a massive country both in terms of geography and potential influence suffers from a massive inferiority complex and huge insecurity issues, That is one reason despite being domineering factor in the region given it's size and population non of it's neighbors big or small have any respect for her, India is simply looked down upon in many area's, This highly irrational insecurity by it's establishment will prevent it from making any headway as a true global power

They're messing it up big time in Nepal like they did in Sri Lanka in the 80's, And then in Bangladesh and Maldives hence, There is a more pro Indian government in Colombo atm in a sense it's more willing to deal with India in a mutual respectable manner, But i'm afraid with people like Doval at the helm of foreign policy India might as well squander their chances for a stable partner in it's southern border

As for the JF-17 deal, It's already done, And will be announced to the public when Mr.Shariff visits the island early next year, No matter the hissy fits thrown in Delhi would reverse that

You are in denial and at best in delusion to think that Indian establishment doesn't have it's hands in each and every internal dispute in it's neighbors in order to preserve it's hegemony in the region, From the Madhesi's in Nepal to Tamils in Sri Lanka and border disputes in Bangladesh to regime change in the Maldives.. The problem here is for global powers like the US and China their influence in the neighborhood can be achieved with minimal effort, But India tries to over play it's hands because you overestimate your capabilities

As for you mentioning about supporting Sri Lanka internationally ? While being appreciative of the recent change in India's stance ,Has very little to do with Sri Lanka's interests but of India's.. Any UN system interference in a sovereign country especially in South Asia would lead to a precedence of interfering in India's numerous internal conflict's from Kashmir to North Eastern states, Thats the reason India stood as it did for the R2P concept and the recent resolutions in the UN

About economic assistance well, 99% of Indian assistance is concentrated in the Northern Tamil ares's specifically in order to pacify it's own Tamil Nadu polity and to maintain influence over the Lankan Tamil populace.. These facts are not lost on either Sri Lankan govts or it's people, On the other hand you seem to be way over you head to understand such complexities in global and regional power politics

In terms of Airforce,Pakistan should not only offer JF-17 to SLAF but also:
1. UAVs for surveillance on its northern coastal areas.
2. UCAVs
3. Provide support and technical set up for EW/ECM aircraft which not only complements JF-17 ops but also provides limited AEW to SLAF.
4. Gift a squadron of Mirage 3/5 fighters to SLAF along with weaponry.

In terms of Army:
1.Pakistan should enter a defence pact with SriLanka to arm and train it forces when SriLanka faces threat or war from any aggression from any country specially India.
2. Provide upgrades for its Type-59/69 and T-55 tanks to AZ standards.
3. Conduct annual Spec ops/SF excercises with SLA.
4. Gift a full regiment of either T-55 from reserve or Type-59 tanks.

In terms of Navy:
1. Station SSG(N) personnel in SriLanka for Seaborne Spec Ops with special attention towards frogmanship.
2. Conduct annual excercises with SL naval infantry.
3. Joint patrolling of seas within borders of both countries

Set up a research and technology center for missiles especially cruise missiles in SriLanka.
