Indigenous interceptor missile trial tomorrow

this is not a ballistic missile shield. your media and army described as a ballistic missile shield to fuel nationalism.
this is my point, not complicated at all.

you wally this is part of our BMD program it will be for a future missile defence shield

Two new anti ballistic missiles that can intercept IRBM/ICBMs are being developed. These high speed missiles (AD-1 and AD-2) are being developed to intercept ballistic missiles with a range of around 5,000 km (3,100 mi). The test trials of these two systems are expected to take place in 2011. The new missile will be similar to the THAAD missile deployed by the U.S.A.

.
The advanced air defence (AAD) interceptor missile, scheduled to be launched from Wheeler Island would destroy a modified ''Prithvi'' surface-to-surface ballistic missile, posing as a hostile one to be blasted from ITR launch complex-3 at Chandipur.
"The interceptor would be a single stage supersonic missile and try to hit the hostile ballistic missile in a maneuverable trajectory stage within seconds," said a Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) scientist.
The interceptor, has its own mobile launcher, secure data link for interception, independent tracking and homing capabilities as well as sophisticated radars. The long-range tracking radars and multi-functional fire control radars have already been positioned in different places along the coast line, which ultimately would pass on signals to the interceptor soon after the hostile missile is launched and the interceptor, after analysing the target missile''s maneuverable trajectories, would hit it at a designated altitude over the Bay.
Of the total five earlier trials, DRDO has tested the interceptor missile successfully four times since its first test on November 27, 2006 both in exo-atmosphere (altitude of 50 to 80 km from earth''s surface) and endo-atmosphere (altitude up to 30 km from earth''s surface) conditions.
However, on March 16, 2010 it could not take off from its launcher as the target missile failed to come to the interceptor''s killer zone. The last trial held on July 26, 2010 from Wheeler Island was a success.

you can keep trolling, but the science community doesn't buy such troll. let me tell you some truth that you can't deny.

1. in our tests, we fired a missile with 3000km range. india so far doesn't have any reliable missile in service can do that.
2. in our tests, the interceptor hit the incoming missile when it was still in space. only two nations demonstrated such capacity: US and China.

Either you have some reading problem or you are just to ignorant read the above news again does it mention CHINA any where or we will do something better that the whole world get a life man

Ballistic missile shield is a term that is both vague and grandiose. What Bharat has so far built is an ATMB. They're not yet trying to shoot down DF-31s.

The time of flight in the Bhar-Pak theatre blurs the roles of terminal and mid-course interception.

Experts from India’s Defence Research Development Organisation have also watched two live launches of missiles used in the shield system.

The development highlights the fast-changing nature of the strategic engagement between Washington and New Delhi, after decades of frosty relations.

“India is a partner of ours, and we want to provide it with whatever it needs to protect itself,” one US embassy official said. “This fits into the overall strategic partnership we are building.”
