Indigenous 5th Gen fighter plane on track: ADA

.
This fighter jet will be built at a quicker pace. India is building good aero space defence related industry.

India is establishing good R&D facilities.
Of this I have no doubt. The amount of firsts (within india ) the LCA achieved are vast and work on the AMCA will simply be adding on top of this (not to say there won't still need to be many firsts inside india on that project).

The skills and capabilities inside india now thanks to the LCA are vast and one can expect a much greater success rate and more aggressive design and validation approach with the AMCA for sure.
And at same time , it' easier to derive normal version from carrier version than other way round.

And isn't FGFA struck in some sort of conundrums ??
Exactly right. This is how the F-18 and Rafale were designed. You run into issues trying to navalise fighters that did not have this built into their original design i.e the EFT, LCA and MiG-29.

You are right about the FGFA, whilst it is likely to be able to launch from ski-ramps the chances of it being able to launch from catapults is less.

If you look at the video i posted on the NP2's first flight video it is quite clear that the N-LCA's design and capabilities have been limited by the fact it was an Air Force plane from the start. The IN test pilot outlines that many of the issues should be corrected in the MK.2 because this is a plane that they (the IN) have had more say in designing around their needs.

I really hope that the DRDO/ADA/IN don't make the same mistake twice. It is well within the capabilities of these institutions to make a catapult compatible fighter from scratch.

What's the status of "super" sukhois ? @sancho
Much will be based on this:

ECM pods.jpg

- Modifications to the centerline station
- ECM wingtip pods as part of the upgraded EW
- indigenous weapons and avionics

What's not clear yet is, what RCS reductions will be implemented and what radar upgrade it will get.

This Would be become key problem or challenge; If IAF Ask for the any Engine with the Capability of Supersonic Easy flow like F-22 and F-35 Engine, perhaps DVI, that wold become die hard challenge for the DRDO or ADA
