Wow, I didn't know things were this bad. What will the Indian government do about this?

. .
Tibet is the water tower of Asia.

No wonder India wanted it so badly.

Now that Trump has pulled the USA out of the Paris Climate Agreement, the global water situation will only get worse over time, especially in the warmer countries.

.
interlinking of river is the only way... however it wont be done, since to much politics is into it :(

. . .
A simple scientific act will solve the problem .

Build artificial lakes and through canals bring water from Himalayan rivers to drought prone areas .

Develope rain water harvesting in areas with medium to high rainfall .

Use sprinkler and drip irrigation .

Say bye bye to rice and paddy fields . They ain't got much nutrition . Grow millets in water scarce areas .

Stop growing sugarcane in areas with water issues .

Stop abusing ground water .

And conserve every drop of water at home .

Drip irrigation will solve half the problems while the other half will be solvesolved by waste water treatment

:D

This is something which can't be done by government alone .

Land acquisition is a headache in India .

People will not grow something else in place of rice and sugercan . We will have people protesting against evil dictates of the evil government :P

Some good ideas....money is a factor

Money is there .

What is lacking is Will , Future sight and mindset .
