India’s trade deficit with China jumps to $53 billion in 2015-2016

your usual Indian style deluded and ignorant assumption ```` that bar shows the minimum income few years back``but average wages are at least 2 times over that bar stated```

and there is no such thing as you said, you paid less than China for same thing```considering your primitive society, you cant make anything from screw to big machinery``they all have to be imported, paid with dollars, and your poor people also have to pay the converted premium, understand kid``

p.s as far asf classic middle-class consumption is concerned, Chinese consumed more than 10 times of classic middle-class goods than India````while your so-called ludicrous 10 dollar per day middle class people are struggling to make ends meet

A couple of years back, making $2-$4 per day would qualify to be in entry level "middle class" in India. That is how they could boast 300 million middle class. The poverty line is still less than $0.5 per day (32 rupees), so I guess $2 per day is indeed a middle class income.

I think the majority of our Indian friends here are from higher castes, so many of them don't have any idea how most of their countrymen live their life. They are here to argue about the year India would become a superpower, while many of their own people are struggling to provide two square meals per day for their family.

most likely, the majority of them can't afford internet when they are struggling to get their next meal.

It is quite understandable, the definition of middle class in some country, for the purpose of politics and self-respect, is diluted into a very low standard.

Look at PWC report on consumption, we can compare some so-called export-oriented economies in East Asia and so-called consumption-oriented economies.

Exactly.
We would easily have one billion+ middle class in 2010 if we ditched our own higher standards.

Indian middle class make less per month than what I spend on one week grocery for myself.

I know a friend who does export medicines to China from India as we speak. I can give his phone number if anyone wishes to deal with him. I know him well. He's a Chinese - born Indian.
All one needs to say is, "Julian from Canada gave me your number."
