then you sent in troops to Siachen. Then Samjhota express as well it goes on and on.

So yes the blame game can go on and on and on but if you are serious you can get talks rolling. you could have got it rolling in Agra when Mushy was there and speaking to your media. So the culprit of kargil was at your doorstep however, the opportunity passed. So please don't tell me india has "trust issues"

but Shree Nair jee i am sure you know india and Pakistan both currently lack a leadership that is willing to negotiate without being short sighted.

Unfortunately, in the immediate & medium-term future, there does not seem to be any chance of peace talks. From GoI perspective, peace with Pak is not a particularly pressing concern. Kashmir situation will never return to the 90's. Nuclearisation has ensured that too great a violent situation will not arise. Plus a great majority of Indians are disengaged from Kashmir problem. They wouldn't mind status quo.

Any geographical & trade benefits can be offset to great degree via Chahbahar initiative and International North South corridor. So India can afford to keep the talks away & focus on enhancing its economy which is both socially & politically THE main concern of the people.

@MilSpec there is some difference Indo-Pak and US-Iran relation.Unlike US -Iran ,Pakistan has an Army that exercise absolute power in their foreign policy,feeding on imaginary threat .

first thing first, J&K was independant just like Juagadh and hyderabad were supposed to be. However, after the incident of junagadh where the nawab sided with Pakistan and yet india annexed it. We were more then correct in doing the same with J&K.

Siachen was non disputed "intel" or no intel you entered it. with that type of logic Kargil was part of J&K which was a disputed region so it was justified.

anyhow yes a mistake when Confidence building measures were taking place. BUT you could have rectified the problem by AGRA meeting if you had any serious intention of talks.

It was not your demands but the methods that you implemented for that demands was the main reason for these hate.
Yet we had leaders like IK Gujral who blindly support peace with Pakistan and China.He even demonstrated his good intention by dismantling our entire intel structure.When he completed his one year rule we were sitting duck.
Your leaders and nonstate actors ,China n not only failed to return that goidwill but also exploited that .That is why we were in blind spot even after the kargil infiltration.
Still we dont blame entire Pakistanis but only theirleaders with vested interests.

But we wont repeat that old mistake .Never again.

Muslim majority with a Sikh ruler and yet india didn't see fit to hold plebiscite instead accepted the rulers request to hand over kashmir to india.
