India’s step is dangerous and wrong: New York Times

a prolonged or delayed afghan solution works best for India... Pakistan stalling the Afghanistan deal will be a very welcome move by all Indian agencies... either way, Pakistan has very little option

This is not going to happen. Afghan peace process would be fast-tracked and then all attention will be on India.

okay,, after the afghan peace deal, what leverage you have to influence US to intervene?

the whole decision on article 370 was very well calculated and timed.. Afghan peace or no peace deal, wither way Pakistan has very little leg room in current context.

Only if some jurnals in Pakistan grow some balls and decide to do a Operation Gibraltar 2.0, this will be the new status quo ..

Oh no.
I hope Pakistan has realized that banking on US or China to help in Kashmir will not solve anything. What it needs is to start and fund an armed rebellion. Since Simla Agreement and all UN resolutions are now null and void because of India's illegitimate and authoritarian action led by Hindu extremist Central Government.

Afghan war took 19 years but it did bleed out US. Same strategy would probably in formulation.

Exactly, ISI already has assets on the other side.
Now that ALL of Kashmir is ready to fight, all we need to do is supply them with the means and keep the heat on at the LOC.

and what will stop India from doing the same inside Pakistan?? The fact is that there are enough fault lines within Pakistan for India to exploit.

The BJP government in Delhi is of a different breed from all the past governments.

Don't just believe that they will not respond to a pakistan funded revolt in Kashmir without bleeding pakistan with the same technique

Afghan Talibans are the real Mujahideens, the fighters of/for Islam, the Jihadis against evil occupation by the US and foreign forces, they have the high moral ground, very strong belief and are fierce fighters and the support of the local people. Not mentioning Pak support as that will belittle their indigenous movement.

Kashmir fighters are a much smaller group and many Kahsmiris are spectators and bystanders...they can he honed into a fierce fighting force to reckon with though...

Again wrong. Your bases are in Afghanistan and Iran from where you send your terrorist.

Your Afghan bases will be done and dusted when Afghan Taliban take over
Iran is already in a difficult position and hence would not antagonize Pakistan.

There are no major fault lines that you can exploit now. PTM is history. BLA is almost gone. Although I am seeing a little resurgence of TTP but I am sure that is well taken care of. You have opened a new front of hostilities by taking a unilateral authoritarian action.

didn't pakistan try to do the same in 90s. SO what is the result of that ?

it as been close to 30 years now and the only change is in the form of lots of graves of **** and Kashmiri terrorists...

No, go away.
I let the other members to read and decide. No need to get angry with me. Rest assured, whenever you would say something vague about Pakistan or Pakistan army, I will confront you and ask you to explain regardless of how uncomfortable it makes you.

This is how the world sees it! A threat to peace in the region, a step with no positive impact or outcome AND a step that is ILLEGAL. Yet the Indians are "celebrating" just as they were celebrating after the Sir Je Kal strikes.
I have a factual question that I hope someone here can help me with to better understand the situation...

As I understand, there are 3 'disputed' zones of Kashmir, one controlled by Pakistan, one by China and one by India. India's occupation of 'their part' of Kashmir is over a Muslim-majority area, and that is the area they just essentially annexed (unconstitutionally) and looks like they want to ethnically cleanse it.

In response, can't Pakistan simply annex the parts of Kashmir it controls? Or is it already 'annexed'? What is policy of Pakistani Government in this area - to go beyond line of control and return all parts of Kashmir to Pakistani control?

Sorry if I asked any stupid questions or said something wrong, I don't know much about this so I'd like to learn more.

Thank you.
