India's Secret Tibetan Army

. .
SFF operates in the Northern frontiers of India.
LTTE operated outside the Southern frontiers of India.

There ^^^
LTTE was a militant group who assasinated our PM while SFF is part of our military. How are they related?

We created and trained LTTE for punishing Lanka for supporting war during 1971. Only after this episode Indira decided to take Lanka seriously.

. .
India trained LTTE terrorists on their own soil as well, in order to kill Sri Lankan civilians.
Thats rubbish. India only supported the cause of Tamils in Sri Lanka who were then treated like a third rate citizens there. India never supported LTTE or militants in Sri Lanka and in fact India sent her army to fight these militants. If India was behind LTTE it would not sent her army against them nor LTTE would kill Rajiv Gandhi. Will Pakistan Army use its personnel and resources to fight Afghan Taliban? Never, because it was them who created Taliban.

.
Wrong, Infact indian armed forces learnt to train their cader from LTTE who were one of the finest force in Guerrilla warfare. Indian army's training of his officer has a much more influence of LTTE.
I am sorry, but please get your facts right. India was heavily involved not only in training LTTE militarily but was supporting them on the political front as well. There have been recorded incidents of violent LTTE terrorists living and training in Tamil Nadu.

Karunanidhi might have helped him But Indian government and Amma was totally opposed to LTTE. Conflict with LTTE begun with sending of troops to srilanka. Infact india helped SL to eliminate LTTE. Without Indian support, they would not have won a fight against LTTE.

If what you are saying is true then the officials involved in training LTTE would have been tried and jailed by now. Indian Armed Forces never get such freedom even after having laws like AFSPA and Indian politics and judiciary would ensure that justice is done.

It is true we created the violent Tamil resistance, we just didn't know what a crazy bunch Prabhakaran & Co. are going to be. The LTTE lost their case the day they killed RG. That was something unforgivable.

If so, what was India's objective? If India wanted to make a separate Tamil Ealum, it would have been a reality today. If India could bifurcate Pakistan, Tamil Ealum in Sri Lanka was nothing. Indian Army is not allowed such kind of adventurism and if some RAW officer wanted to fool around then that was a big mistake indeed.

.
If India had a secret Tibetan Army then it wont be discused here. Indian Army has many secret wings, secret forces, secret operations and secret strategies. Its the duty and responsibility of the armed forces to protect Indian land and sea from any eventuality. Long ago I had heard that Indian Army was creating a force by recruiting Tibetan Refugees and deploy them as regular armed personnel in different units. They were deployed such that within 24 hours they can leave their regiments and form a separate infantry, artillery regiments and proceed to fight as one unit. This was/is perhaps created by Indian Army in case Govt. of India changed its political stand on Tibet and help Tibet create its own highly trained Army. I asked the person that it sounded so secretive how he had access to this info and he could not answer me. Now even if I believe its true then i would just call it Indian Army's preparedness for any perceived eventuality. Its not meant for a proxy war but if political leadership does change its stance on Tibet, as most Indians sympathize with the cause of Tibet, the army is not caught off guard.
So we can talk so many hypothetical things and feel good or bad about it.

It wasn't just about singular miscreants. It was a state policy. The case of Bangladesh is very different, as India couldn't profess open belligerence against Sri Lanka and the two Pakistans were bifurcated by a 1000 miles of enemy territory. Tamil and Sinhalese Sri Lankas are a single geographic unit and thus difficult to break.

The why here is interesting. Could be cuddling up to the Tamils in India who sympathized with their SL brethren, or just another aspect of India's expansionist doctrine of the time, looking for greater influence on the Indian ocean. I've not even brought in the cold war angle here, as Sri Lanka was closer to NATO/Pakistan.
