We are mentioned in your media every single day multiple times. You always compare yourselves with us.

Come to China, no one even mentions India among our people. Our media will cover India once every blue moon. We don't care about India, but you care about us

Our rival is the US, we always try to compare ourselves to them to see how we measure up against them.

That may have something to do with the fact that almost every China bashing thread here is started by a Indian. And if you don't believe me then go look around on this forum and you will see that almost every China bashing thread is started by some guy with a Indian flag on his profile. I would have had more sympathy for India's current situation if it wasn't for all those Indian trolls here.

Some Szechuan dishes are great, but not those that are cooked with a pile of red chili. It's so hot, it numbs your mouth.

Sichuan cuisine is amazing.

The chili dishes are hot yes, but you can always avoid eating the chili peppers themselves. So the heat is manageable. :D

its really a reciprocity isnt it??its unfortunate this has to happen in this forum indians and pakistanis have the intimate enimity between them and have the luxury of bashing each other and its common that chinese come in support of them and open regular derogatory threads towards india what would u expect??reciprocity and it has no end.in any case most indians are apprehensive about the aggressive stance of china in its international relations which has nothing to do with the proceedings in this forum.

There are very few derogatory threads about India opened by Chinese most of them are opened by Pakistani's. That's the way things works here whenever there is a China bashing threads its most likely opened by a Indian and whenever there is a Indian bashing thread its most likely opened by a Pakistani.

And who is being agressive in South Asia or in foreign policy in general so far China hasn't had any cross border bloodshed with any of our neighbors despite the disputes we have unlike India.

this is not the apt thread to discuss those things but to state the facts india has never started any wars.and its definitely not us who disturbed peaceful environment in ladakh and arunachal pradesh recently instead of diplomacy .we all know whats the situation in scs.china claims almost entire sea..and poses aggressively to its neighbors.india always tries diplomacy first.

India never started any wars have you forgotten about 1971 and the forward policy of 1962. As far as border incursions are concerned the border between China and India in the Himalaya's has never been clearly defined. And there are plenty of times when Indian soldiers cross over to the Chinese side of the disputed border its just that we don't make such a big deal out of it unlike the Indians. And the Ladakh standoff is because India was building structures on disputed territory between the two countries. And as far as the South China Sea is concerned. China never claimed the entire South China Sea only the islands in it. Show me one Chinese source or a statement from the Chinese government where it states that China claims the entire South China Sea. And if India is soooo peaceful and diplomatic then why does India have such tense relationships with almost ALL of its neighbors not only China.

The best thing we know about China is its cuisine. Chinese foods are very popular in many parts of India. There are lots of restaurants serving Chinese cuisine here. And if you ask us Calcuttans (Kolkatans), then we know more about Chinese cuisine then any Chinese! :P Actually there is a large population of Chinese in Kolkata, and their main businesses are leather products and restaurants. We have lots of Chinese restaurants as well as multi-cuisine restaurants also serving Chinese everywhere in Kolkata. There is also a place called Chinatown in Tangra, Kolkata which is full of may be some 100 or more Chinese restaurants, both big & small!! One of my clients is a Chinese (now Indian citizen), probably a Han Chinese as his name starts with Han, he also runs a Chinese restaurant. He goes to China once in 2-3 years to meet his relatives there. I once asked him if the Chinese foods served here are the same as in China, he said yes; they are authentic Chinese. :) We even serve Chinese in occasions like marriage ceremony, birthday celebrations also along with different Indian cuisine. Note that most Chinese restaurants are run by Indians all over India, and biggest of them is the restaurant chain "Mainland China" run by a Bengali. :)

Chinese foods are very popular as street foods also, while restaurants serve hundreds of different dishes, Chinese street foods are mostly limited to variants of noodles/chowmein, momo (dumplings), fried rice, & chicken items like chili chicken or schezwan chicken, etc. (Names might differ). We mostly stick to dishes made with noodles, rice, chicken, prawn, & fish, we don't venture into other kind of Chinese foods! :D

Err.. Just two things. "Schezwan" is actually Sichuan.
Momos' isn't a Chinese term. In Chinese we normally call it "Jiao Zi"

This is all I know. Other members can also correct.

China

In the 18th to 19th centuries, the Sikh Confederacy of the Punjab region in India was expanding into neighbouring lands. It had annexed Ladakh into the state of Jammu in 1834. In 1841, they invaded Tibet with an army and overran parts of western Tibet. Chinese forces defeated the Sikh army in December 1841, forcing the Sikh army to withdraw from Tibet, and in turn entered Ladakh and besieged Leh, where they were in turn defeated by the Sikh Army. At this point, neither side wished to continue the conflict, as the Sikhs were embroiled in tensions with the British that would lead up to the First Anglo-Sikh War, while the Chinese was in the midst of the First Opium War with the British East India Company. The Chinese and the Sikhs signed a treaty in September 1842, which stipulated no transgressions or interference in the other country's frontiers.[20]

I don't know what kind of history they teach you over there in India, no wonder almost every Indian think it was China who started the war in 1962.

no indian representative talked about overtaking china.we have some serious problems to take care at home.its just the media hype and chinese obsession which made them think so..

when india was still drugged by hot money and chest-thumping before their big flops as usual

Last week, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh stated that in the next five years he wanted Mumbai to overtake Shanghai in terms of infrastructure development, water supply, sanitation and communication. "Shanghai is the talking point in Asia today. I want Mumbai to replace it," he said.

And this recent claim when we are the reigning Champ:

India’s government-backed computing agency has submitted a plan to the government there that calls for a massive investment in next-generation supercomputing power. The proposal, which calls for an investment of more than $870 million over five years, claims that it can rocket India to the very peak of the TOP500 list, the twice-a-year tallying of the fastest computing platforms in the world. In fact, the proposal says that these exaflop-range machines will be a full 61 times faster than the fastest existing machine.

If international reports talk like that, what can we do?

The claim was to aim for a benchmark for CWG. You should be happy that the authorities for CWG called your event as a benchmark to aim for which is actually a compliment.

Why getting angry?

My posting was aimed to refute neehar's comment

why should I be getting angry at these trivial matters which your countrymen taken as big news?
The first one was from your MMS and the media were just messengers
Regrading the cwg, there was something more than a benchmark measurement
