Cow smuggling in prevalent in the border with Bangladesh. Also used to be a hub for counterfeit notes in the 90s. Now it has reduced.is malda a crime infested region?
no I meant violent crime.. not these ones... like beating each other up, rioting, hooliganism...Cow smuggling in prevalent in the border with Bangladesh. Also used to be a hub for counterfeit notes in the 90s. Now it has reduced.
There were riots in western portion of Maldah along the border with Bihar after the Babri Masjid episode. Lasted for many years. Communal relations are quite tense in the Muslim dominated pockets of the state. There used to real estate extortion rackets in areas around Kaliacak and syndicate mafias in the 80s and 90s. Most extortion rackets have been busted but syndicates still run rampant in real estate. There have even been gang wars.no I meant violent crime.. not these ones... like beating each other up, rioting, hooliganism...
i was asking coz I was once passing by that area on an overnight train, and people said its not uncommon that passengers are looted of their belongings... not exactly bihar style(with guns) but more like petty gangs. There were riots in western portion of Maldah along the border with Bihar after the Babri Masjid episode. Lootings mostly happen along places on the Bihar-WB border. And the miscreants do have guns with them. Though in the last few years haven't heard of many robberies taking place in trains passing through those areas. Apart from these areas, our state is mostly peaceful. There are some occasional gang wars among syndicates, political parties in Calcutta suburbs and city centres of Bordhoman and other places. But other than that its mostly fine. Jungle raj still not reached here.i was asking coz I was once passing by that area on an overnight train, and people said its not uncommon that passengers are looted of their belongings... not exactly bihar style(with guns) but more like petty gangs.
sure enough there was some commotion at midnight... I was sh*t scared to be honest.
I always though bengal is peaceful.
RSS is doing everything possible to put foot print in Bengal and they are not succeeding due to educated Bengali... and Bengali are not blind bhakts. We don't have Ram Sena or some stupid sena to Harass Couple in Park, College or Cricket ground.
BJP won in Kolkata due to Marwari Population and Babul Supiryo (BJP MP) won in CPM stronghold. Trying to create a Communal atmosphere which they are best in and gain from that.
Bengal was the safest place during 1992 riots and many Gujarati came here and settled during godhara riots.
We always welcome who is believes in Humanity and not religion, caste and creed.
And what makes you believe an unreliable source in the first place?why do you think the article deserves a "lol" from you ?
its a very serious issue. a couple more of these moron could start full on riots for nothing.
these ppl should be shot at the head at the earliest. the ones who come to defend such vile creature should be shot as well. an example should be made.
And what makes you believe an unreliable source in the first place?
do you think the content of the article is fake? And what makes you believe an unreliable source in the first place?
do you think the content of the article is fake?
its a very good question. thank you.And what makes you believe an unreliable source in the first place?
Not entirely, but does the content justify the headline?do you think the content of the article is fake?
So does the article's content can in anyway be justified with the headline it has? As mentioned by you that mass mobilization in the name of religion is nothing new in all religions, why does this article corner out only muslims, why only mini islamic state, if you go around India you can find multiple mini-Hindutva states...its a very good question. thank you.
although believing or non believing purely lies on an individual, weighing the ground realities which are more or less similar in nature is a different matter altogether. I have seen places in assam where radical fundamentalism has found its roots or in a very ripe stage for the same. one political party in assam (AIUDF) is exploiting this situation. although I must admit I am yet to see, personally, an instance similar to that quoted in the article.
the situation in assam though, is far less "explosive" than that in Bengal. its not a new phenomena when minorities go into a "self imposed cocoon" to create their own version of "perfect society" (I saw this in my college hostel - the north eastern tribal guys would hang out with themselves only - things have drastically changed though).
mass mobilization in the name of religion is nothing new, whether hindu or muslim. that makes me believe in the article.
