What's new

India’s only nuclear submarine damaged in accident

. .
Sometimes you have tragedies, its terrible but it happens

You blew up one of your ammunition dumps last year killing 30+

But with india, flipping war ships, crashing subs etc

Its just normal behaviour
Ojhri ammunition dump fire alone killed more people than all Indian ammunition dump fires since 1985 combined.

Ummm No.. Hindi is not the national language of India.

True, of all the languages, the one language that people would agree upon as the "national" language is English. Though there is none that is regarded as the national language. Many official languages, but no national language.

it usually happens when they take try to move it, its safe as long as its docked

You would think that submarine accidents won't happen as long as its docked. That statement hold true in human history. Until a few years ago when your Supa Powa next door proved otherwise.

Sorry state of affairs.

Just a single Pakistan Navy acccident (PNS Moawin fire) caused more fatalities than total fatalities in all Indian Navy accidents since 2005

Accidents happen every where and some times its tragic to take many lives but IN list of accidents specially submarine related is long .

These things dont happen to normal states unless you have major problems

Lack of adequate infrastructure, logistic, trained & skilled men = Tell-tale sign of mishap waiting to happen.
And India is a low income, 3rd world country anyway.
Crew negligence also is a major cause in Maritime accidents.

People would not agree on English as well. English is an International language and therefore it is not uncommon for a common man in India to not know it, but that does not give English a privilege more than what it deserves. We don't need a national language when we have many different languages to boast about of which each of em is unique. I wonder what the national language of U.S is?

PNS Moawin is a replenishment ship. While Indian Navy got the distinction of blowing up their strategic assets in accidents. Ofcourse accidents on assets like nuclear submarine is no issue in Indian Navy, but for the rest of the world, it has full potential to become a environmental hazard for the region.

PNS moawin fire saw 53 fatalities which is more than all fatalities in all Indian Navy accidents combined 2005 onwards.

BTW scrapping of a sonar dome is a minor accident and possess zero environmental risks.
We have had far more serious incidents involving US & UK nuke subs just last year.

This submarine is not Indian, its leased for 10 years and has to do a salmon run, in a same condition she came in.
India has to spend $ to do repair on this complex job. Sonar is eyes & ears of any submarine. Russian specialists would fly in.

India has to shell out more, beside the downtime involved.

Sorry state of affairs.
