We are the RESPONSIBLE nuclear country. Thats what I like about our nuclear programme.

We also don't keep on warning other countries about using the nukes. We have NO FIRST USE policy. I like that.

With the snail-pace of Indian defence procurements, 3 SSBN's by 2020 is a more realistic, rather an optimistic thought.
Agni 6 with 10,000+ KM range. Buddy we don't need these type of missiles. Atleast not in front of the world. This will only create suspicions among our western allies and we may risk becoming the new China [metaphorically].

But we do need 10,000 kms SLBMs to be able to launch from deep inside Indian Ocean.

It is not sufficient if the nuclear submarines need to be in Bay of Bengal to be able to launch. However, to begin with 3,500 km K-4 should fine.

thats what i was saying ppg

What for? The advantages of an SSBN are the mobility and that it get closer to the target, that leaves the enemy with very less time for counter measures or to start their own missiles. Our land based missiles on the other side are stationary and the missiles needs a long time till they reach their targets. So 10000Km SLBMs are for sure not needed, but we need defenitely more than the 750Km that we currently have too.

Our ssbn force should be a uniform unit.
The ideal misile range would be around 7000-8000 kms that would allow us to target our principal adversaries from our safe SSBN bastions.
The SSBN force should be ideally 4 SSBNs each with 12-16 MIRVED 7-8k kms range ICBMs.2 must must be operational and on duty always.
The aircraft delivery is increasingly obsolete method.
The Land based BM force should consist of IRBMs and ICBms[8000km range good].They must be road and rail mobile and easily camoflaged.

And a triple tier ABM defense system. We should have a integrated system of indeginous interceptors of exo and endo atmospheric variants backed up by the russian s-300/400 series. The second are important as these are designed to kill american pershing IRBMs which are the equivalent of pakistan's todays IRBM force. Thus a combined defensive will be more secure.

.
ΛΛ we should go for S 500 and not S 300/400. at the same time we should have our own two tier BMD. ggg.0
