How old are you? Or more importantly how ignorant are you? Apparently you have never heard of FM Manekshaw or Lt Gen Jagjit Singh Aurora or Lt Gen JFR Jacob (all non-Hindus) or the 1971 war for starters.

I bet the thought of the next Cheif's religion doesn't even cross the minds of IA soldiers, why should we discuss the matter, we didnt discuss VK Singh's religion or the numerous other service Cheif's that have been Sikhs. I am a Sikh but I don't care if this guy is one, only that he will be a good COAS and I'm sure he will, look at his experience, you don't rise to his position without excellent service (and of course a fair amount of mud sticking to you but that's the game).
