More likely to project power along with Quad members in SCS. I dont think this vessel is intended for India-Pakistan rivalry. This is more to project power outside their region and it is basically why Aircraft carrier is built by US, British, France, and others.

Personally against aircraft carriers. India doesn't historically project power and the need for aircraft carriers is quite limited.
