What's new

India’s manned space mission, not in near future … or never?

Any disagreement is a rant? I know that eBook was published by ISRO, so what. No other news agencies has picked up the story. As you said Indian agencies does have to be transparent, a project that would propel India to the elite of the space club would be picked up.

Since this project was published in an eBook, obviously it's no secret, why would it not be well known.

So since journos are not informed such a project do not exist ? I have never seen anyone relying more on some news agency than an official source,an article written by none other Deputy Director of Cryogenic Propulsion in ISRO's Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, who is also the chief designer of ISRO's CE 20 engine.

Mr. Kiran Kumar told The Hindu, “[The MoU] is the initial process, a lot of discussions must be held before it takes a concrete shape. We would work on future systems of common interest. We have identified several areas and established working groups to go through them. We have to see how it develops.”

The ISRO is working on its new-generation, Rs. 1,800-crore third rocket programme, called the semi-cryogenic launch vehicle, to beef up its current portfolio of the PSLV and the GSLV. It will use space-grade kerosene and liquid oxygen as fuel and is meant to pitch spacecraft totally weighing six to ten tonnes to heights of 36,000 km. This would be double the lifting power of the GSLV and triple that of the PSLV. Only the U.S. and Russia have this technology.

Mr. Kiran Kumar said: “We are looking at using Russian testing facilities for the semi-cryogenic engine. We will be ready with the engine [SCE-200] in six to eight months. Although we will have our own test facility at Mahendragiri, ours will take some time to come up.”

Russian tie-up to boost ISRO’s semicryogenic launcher plan - The Hindu

.

Another thing, even your ULV rocket doesn't have a date( or if it does I missed it, let me know), how far advanced do you think you are on this HLV.

ISRO plans launch schedules only two years in advance.Even according to the most pessimistic estimates, you'll see an ULV launch before 2020,for sure since it is a modification of the existing LVM 3 design with the semi cryogenic stage ( SC 160 ) replacing the existing hypergolic fueled one (L-110).About the semi cryogenic engine...

The HLV would use the same engines as you as ULV.

ISRO is designing heavy-lift launch vehicles with capabilities in the range of 6–10 tonnes in GTO. For this purpose, the following propulsion systems are being pursued:

1. A 200 tonne propellant loading LOX and kerosene booster stage powered by a 2,000 kN
thrust semi-cryogenic engine operating on stage combustion cycle.
2. A 50 tonne LOX-LH2 propellant loading cryogenic stage powered by twin CE 20 cryogenic
engines.
3. A 10 tonne LOX-LH2 propellant loading cryogenic stage powered by a CE 20 cryogenic
engine.

CZ-5 which will launch next year is 40% bigger than UML and that still leaves the launch date of CZ-9 in the 2025s.

This is not a measuring contest.

Most are using parts purchase from US and then snap it up as made in India, just like how your LCA is :enjoy:

Any more dumb comments ?

Butt hurt level: 99999999 :help:

Its fact, Indian cant even make chipboard. Still remember the tablet your minister try to brag at UN. It was infact a shenzhen made parts snap up as India invented Tablet and brag by Indian in UN. A total failure by Indians

Your satellite is the same. It just assemble up by Indian
So Chinese are lecturing the world about copy paste? wtf?:omghaha:

We are just presenting facts which Indian find it hard to accept. China export Satellite to Laos and is 100% made in China becos USA ban any satellite support to China :enjoy:

Are you insulting you, Indians?
If I am Indian, I will killed myself for such a failure

Indian is a cheater too. Worst, cheat and still fail , beaten by China in all ranking badly. That is pure stupid. Only Indians

Facts lol, stop scanning Indian websites for your daily bread, then talk about facts :cray:

Processor for Launch Vehicle Application realised at SCL Wafer Fabrication Facility

Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL) at Chandigarh, an Autonomous Body under the Department of Space, is engaged in Research & Development in the area of Microelectronics. Activities at SCL are focused on design, development, manufacturing, testing & assembly, packaging of Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) devices, Imaging and Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) devices, including the development of process technology for various applications. SCL is also involved in High Reliability (Hi-Rel) board fabrication and component screening for ISRO, indigenisation of electronic boards for Air Force and production of Dr. Pisharoty Radio Sonde Systems for atmospheric studies.

SCL is continuing its efforts to create a strong microelectronics base in the country and enhance capabilities in Very Large Scale Integrated Circuits (VLSIs) domain. While the design, assembly, testing, quality / reliability assurance facilities are already in place, the manufacturing facility has been upgraded from 0.8 μm CMOS 6” Wafer Fabrication to 0.18 μm CMOS 8” Wafer Fabrication.

Production Lots (Wafer Lots) are being processed with Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) / Test Chips designed in-house. Second Lot, out of four Production Lots under processing, has been fabed-out in August 2015. Vikram Processor, one of the key components for Launch Vehicle application, has been successfully realised as part of this Lot. Main application of Vikram Processor is in the realisation of on-board computers for navigation, guidance and control processing in flight applications as well as for general purpose processing applications.

There is ever-increasing requirement of incorporating more features and reducing size, weight and volume of on-board systems coupled with improved reliability through higher level of integration. Technologies available at SCL in microelectronics domain are focused towards supporting ISRO/DOS and other sectors in realising these objectives indigenously and at the same time providing required flexibilities for their specific applications.

Guys Stick to Topic......... Enough of trolling....

We both copy but...
China copy and is successful. Indian copy and still can fail. That is the different. As I say Fail of all failure for Indians :enjoy:
Eh? Isn't it more like one can and does reverse engineer advanced tech; while the other is limited to slapping together imported parts to label them as indigenous development.

The latter is just pathetic and can be done by almost any nation, even puny ones; whereas the former requires a level of development in science and manufacturing.
