Aakash was billed as the world’s cheapest tablet PC, just three months after its triumphant launch, India’s $49 tablet computer is mired in an ugly public relations war.

Anyone who is complaining that there is a quality problem is comparing it to the wrong level – it’s too slow, Yes it’s too slow.

-Not having a capacitive touchscreen is a first world problem.

-Not having a dual core Cortex A9 processor is a first world problem.

-ARM11 CPU, which is about a decade old

-Too Slow

-$47-49 for Public

India’s $45 tablet fails to click in trials

Comments by Users. Aakash was billed as the world’s cheapest tablet PC, This this was a failure from the beginning. Looking at the specs of the tablet before it went into production one could see that it would not handle the android operating system.

I thought that the govt would have some brains and realise what you pay is what you get. Cheap is not best ! you want success go all out.

It was designd not for guys like you and me, but for the rural india where they cant access technology for being it too expensive. It will still do the job as surf the internet, looking at ****, facebook and music.
