India's K-15 Ballasic Missile tasked to take out China's Aircraft Carrier 'Liaoning'

India has launched 104 satellite in orbit with a single rocket. So launch 10400 satellite with a single rocket and then talk.

If it is US aircraft carrier than what you say may be right but china certainly can not defend against missiles like brahmos or other US cruise missile.



Do you know that the glide vehicle which china tested couple of years ago releases glide vehicle from mother missile at a speed of mach 10 and it goes down to bellow 5 mach by the time it reaches target? On other hand we have a weapon which does not go beyond atmosphere and still travels at mach 7.5 till the target. Thisis the difference between chinese and indian missile technology.

Agreed. Sea skimming missiles have a greater accuracy because they have to target ship in two dimension and not in three like anti ship ballastic missile. That is why there are many antiship cruise missile but there is not proven ASBM exist today.However scientis always try to make it possible by developing various technology and it seems that they are not too far. Brahmos steep dive is all set to mimic the ASBM trajectory while hitting the ship. So we can incorporate this technology in ASBM like k15 variant discussed in article.

The advantage of sea-skimming missiles is not necessarily their accuracy but rather the inability of many anti-missile systems to engage targets at such low altitudes. It also limits the detection range and subsequently the reaction time of the defender by preventing OTH targeting. These qualities are not so readily applicable to high-flying missiles.

Successful ASBM targeting can achieved through a combination of OTH radars, forward-deployed sensors and satellite imaging, and terminal homing of the reentry vehicle.

You are right but to protect AC, very sophesticated systems are required such as US agies system or LR SAM and BARAK 8 syatem or ew sytem in place on Vikramaditya which makes it undetectadle from any sensor from any distance.

If that is the case than china should stop developing ASBM and Focus on anti ship cruise missile. CHina has very long range cruise missile which they should convert in anti ship role but they are not doing that why?

They are not designed to just find the launch vehicle. That would be great if there was such a thing. It be like designing a satellite that detects nuclear emissions from warheads in nuclear submarines or ballistic missiles on TELs.

That is why Anti Carrier Ballistic Missile, the warhead comes at a very high speed from the top and bypasses all the walls. BTW, China hasn't actually made any carrier group as of now.

Detecting a heat signature is one thing since its automatic when launch. Scanning a large land mass for a ballistic missile is another. Even if its a huge missile. Thats a tough job.

ASBMs provide a different set of advantages, including a much higher terminal velocity, greater range, and its exploitation of the limitations of ABM systems. The Chinese have, in fact, converted their CJ-10 cruise missile into the YJ-100 anti-ship missile with an 800 kilometer range.

The DF-21D and DF-26 have been spotted in service; you can Google the images yourself, not to mention that their appearance at official military "parades" pretty much guarantees that fact.
