You need to sink in shame actually. Just few decades back you were doing really really well compared to India. And look at your nation now. And btw, India is reducing the number of abjectly poor extremely fast. Given its massive size it is a miracle comparable to the one in China from 90s.

Honestly, super power or not, India is beating pakistan left right and centre on every damn metrics.

There are bad people, poverty stricken people, prole with backward mentality everywhere. But I don't think India or any South Asian country can compare with Europe or US. The gap is way too big. Thus bragging here is rather a tasteless thing to do. If France starts giving free visa with PR to Indians.....how many Indians you think will stand in line? And what if it happens the other way? If India starts giving French citizens free visa with PR, how many French you think will want to take it? What's the point of being the third most powerful nations(even in your dreams), when you nation remains backward and even barbaric by some standards? Comparing India with South Asian nation is acceptable. Comparing it with countries that are way more develop than India, on stats that depend on population is sheer arrogance.

I agree with you there but that is not particular to India. Same can be said about Pakistan. A haircut in UK is £20. Same in Pakistan is £2. This alludes more to the weakness in measuring GDP figures as abstractions of the real economies out there. For instance these figures ignore the unrecorded side of economic activity. In pakistan this is particularly relevant as the black ecnomy is bigger then the recorded economy. In other the figures are way off the mark.

For the comparison you are making, you should be talking about PPP.
