I reserved my comments until today. Did u by any chance happen to see Pak vs West Indies today?
You will realize why I referred to it as galli mahala ki team.

Being at work I could not see the match but did follow the scores .

It is extremely upsetting if you are a Pakistani.

Both India & Pakistan are teams that can lose a winning match and win a losing match on a given day.

I concede Pak team appears to lack perspective.

There will be soul searching within but to me as an outsider at this point in time I feel one reason could be over dependence upon the old horses - Misbah, Afridi, Younus.

They may be good & still have some cricket in them but their ' best before' date is long gone. More important, they are blocking 3 slots in the first XI & denying exposure to a youngster .

If I were the PCB I would be looking at preparing a team for the next WC and exposing the young players to pressure at that level now itself instead of wasting 3 slots on old horses.

This is the perspective I was talking of.

Agreed. I would also add to the list players like Umar Akmal, Wahab Riaz, that 7 foot Asshole. They have been given ample opportunities but have not improved one bit.

To me it appears the PCB played ' safe' in selecting Misbah & afridi given their acceptance in Pakistan
