^^^ A better measurement would be to divide that number by number of pages.

we should have a rating like (number of deleted posts)/(number of pages)

currently this index stands at 19.75

what should we call it?

exactly, nationalism always triumphs, and communists are the greatest nationalists. stalin even said the goal of the soviet union was to build socialism in one country - russia.

maybe the best thing would be for the maoists to be just powerful enough to destabilize india but not powerful enough to overthrow the government.

This is not an informed opinion of the situation. Even though I would like a non-corrupt government to come to power, even if it is communist, it is kinda impossible under present conditions.
It is ignorant to compare the socio-political conditions in which communist and the democratic governments of china and india came to power. To understand fully, it you have to read the history.

Naxalite movement is not as widespread as it would seem.
The naxalite support base is in remote villages which dont even have basic services like electricity and education. The naxal operations are carried out in the city and they go and hide in these remote villages which are almost inaccessible for the government apparatus.

In fact, I would say corruption and poor governance are the real reason for Naxalism. The only reason they are still there is because they have been deemed insignificant by GoI (You would be surprised that most state police forces fight naxalism, not even paramilitary). But their recent high profile attacks might have just changed it. Only reason they survived till now is because they didnt have a central organisation, or a regular 'armed' force, making it tough for the goverment to really act against an invisible organisation. That might have changed recently.

As to the original post, I agree it is a sad situation. But that has nothing to do with democracy or communism. It is a result of an unfortunate mix of some very corrupt politicians, their corrupt police minions, corporate money and an illiterate populace. My deepest condolences to the bereaved.

Well i dont know about the rest of the state but i am wondering what they put parts of Kerala under maoists presence?there is no report of maoist attack in my state for the last two decades..there was significant presence in Kerala in late 60's.but subsequent governments work for the welfare of the people and proper education help them eradicate naxal menace from Kerala society..
