India's defence exports increase by 700% in two years, ranks 19th among world's defence exporters

Foreign exchange rates change everyday, why would the defence ministry keep track of the variation in valuation of export earnings ?
another vedic justification to justify hindutva lies, if rates changes every day why do you keep record of your non defense exports? and when you fart a big news like indians do dont you think you involve every ministry to back your numbers?

indians are really funny and living in their own lala land

they are manufactured due to cheap labors just like corona vaccines and outsourced to india
What a superior logic in play by this expert here.
Whatever India makes is due to cheap labour. Whatever Pakistan makes (if at all anything) is due to innovation.
Is there any limit of hatred and blindness induced by it? I guess not.

India's defence exports increase by 700% in two years, ranks 19th among world's defence exporters

The central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has had the long-standing ambition of making India one of the leading exporter of defence equipment and as per latest information, the Centre has indeed lived up to its promise on that front.

Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat on Wednesday said that India is currently ranked 19th in the list of top defence exporters in the world, as of 2019 data.

“We witnessed a staggering 700% growth in defence exports from Rs 1521 crores in 2016-17 to Rs 10,745 crores in 2018-19…an all-time high ranking of 19th in the list of defence exporters in 2019,” CDS Rawat said during an e-symposium on 'Catalysing Defence Exports' via video conferencing.

In order to boost PM Modi’s clarion call for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, the Union Ministry of Defence in August formulated a draft Defence Production and Export Promotion Policy 2020 as an overarching guiding document to provide a focused, structured and significant thrust to defence production capabilities of the country for self-reliance and exports.

“The policy aims to achieve a turnover of Rs 1,75,000 crores, including export of Rs 35,000 crores, in aerospace and defence goods and services by 2025,” the Defence Ministry said in a statement on August 3.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had in August announced a major policy decision about the imposition of a phase-wise ban on the import of 101 military weapons systems and platforms in order to promote the domestic defence industry.

“We cannot depend on foreign governments, foreign suppliers and foreign defence products to meet our defence needs. It is not compatible with the objectives and feelings of a strong and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’,” he had said back then.

Turkey has higher defense exports than the backward sh*thole india...which is like 1500% the size of Turkey.

Such posts often remind me of this white commentators tweet

IRRELEVANT.

India had a POLICY of NOT EXPORTING WEAPONS and Defense Equipment's. Turkey had NO such policy.

Now that Policy has been reversed and we see the immediate result.

Value of Export is tracked by the Fiance Ministry and RBI and NOT defense ministry.

Since the reply was made by DEFENSE minister, he did not have the accurate figures to share with the parliament. Only the Finance minster can do that.

If you were more intelligent you would have understood such a simple fact.

Ok, if that helps you sleep better on the face of the fact that 1500% smaller Turkey exports more high tech defense equipment than your sh¡t hole of a nation.

These are all the threads just on THIS forum alone. THIS is you. Mental masturbations to assuage your humiliating existence while the world marches on and you stay irrelevant as always....

Along with the KSA, India is the world's largest arms importer. Except for some strategic areas, there is a developing defense industry that depends entirely on suppliers from countries such as the USA, Russia, France and Israel. India does not need to study on every subsystem, anyway. Because it can supply the product it wants from the foreign market, it can also be predicted that this structure will continue, also due to the government policies that have the tendency to use these foreign purchases as a foreign policy tool/leverage from time to time.

In short, apart from Hindustan Aeronautics, there are no other companies that have global competition and production standards yet. Apart from this aerospace giant, the most important thing to talk about is that India has a significant potential to go much further. If India can continue its developing industrial relations with the USA in recent years and manage the S-400 crisis well, it can be included in the supply network of this country more effectively in the coming period.

India has a huge army. What I'm talking about is that it has to have a really huge inventory in terms of quantity, and it has to maintain a certain level of operational readiness due to regional risks. This is the most important advantage of the Indian defense industry. However, defense projects need access to larger markets than countries such as Myanmar, Srilanka, and Mauritius in order to reduce the burden on development costs and create a self-sufficient ecosystem.

I add import and export graphs from the SIPRI report, the only trusted source worldwide on international arms sales:

Politicians talks big, why is that news ?

Tamil Nadu election candidate promises helicopter, trip to moon, Rs 1 crore, but here's the catch

Among his list of freebies promised is a mini-helicopter, gold jewellery for weddings, three-storey house, robot to reduce workload of homemakers, boat for every family, 300-ft high artificial snow mountain to keep his constituency cool, a rocket launch pad and a space research centre

USA exports small arms yet imports them from other countries as well. It is all based on tendering process who offers the best price of selected equipments. 700% increase is due to low base effect.

Majority of the western militaries’ and police’s bulletproof gear are manufactured in India, recently around 14,500 Bulletproof vests were delivered to Brazil and UN ordered India’s armoured vehicles for use in Africa. We sell Ships and naval vessels to Mauritius, Maldives, Sri Lanka and other Indo-Pacific Nations. And many other small components and services etc.
Most of the NATO use BJPs produced by MKU since past few decades.

What most people don't realize was that India was under almost continuous Sanctions ever since we exploded our first Nuclear bomb.

We were denied even simple technologies Turkey takes for granted in developing u'r systems.

You can see this with Iran today.

With the sanctions gone for ever, India will soon catch up and then overtake most nations in Defense manufacturing. That is just as simple reality.

Same thing happened to China when Nixon brought China closer to contain USSR.

17000 crore is 2 billion dollars made in exports

that's good

5 billion dollara target in 5 years and judging by the hi end equipment at aero India I see this as realistic.
I think India will make top 10 easily by 2027
modi make in India drive is enormous

another 5 years of Modi, then 15 years of Yogi..and after that India can vote for progressive, socially liberal, fiscally left of centre parties...but not before that
