"While the China bears and bulls do daily battle and our markets wobble one way or the other on a percentage point of Chinese growth data, a genuine disaster continues to build to our north and remains largely ignored: India is rotten.

Not all of India, of course, and not rotten enough to make the 300 million or so souls of the Indian middle class economically irrelevant, but the corruption and ineptitude of the soon-to-be world's most populous country is so ingrained and of such a scale as to be one of the great crimes against humanity of this century."

India's corruption tragedy hurts us all

A bad boom

Graft in India is damaging the economy. The country needs to get serious about dealing with it

Forget China for a minute, I think India has a long way to go, corruption is deeply rooted in the Indian DNA. Yes China is corrupt, but we are talking about India, why do Indians always try and divert the attention to others, when they really need to be taking a good hard look at their country and themselves.

Not diverting, you said indian corruption was affecting the world! ( which you too are a part of)and in those terms I corrected you - as your own people run away from your country to come to mine with all their graft money :) . If anyone is leading the world in graft, where said graft is big enough to affect the world- it is yours :P

Sad, the entire developing world suffers from high levels of corruption.

Look who is talking, as if developed countries don't have corruption.

You can remove the word "developing". It is the same thing in developed countries. Just because you legalize corruption, doesn't mean it isn't there. Heck, Obama's Hawaii trip cost enough to warrant execution multiple times if he had been an official from China.

The commentators are right. Corruption is out of control. The only way India can prosper is if you all VOTE AAP.

Poor frog in the well, the news was reported in China by other media. Wen had openly rebutted NY times.

Wealth doesn't mean corruption. Politicians are allowed to run and invest in business. China has created unprecedented wealth over the last 20 years. We are not India. :laughcry:
