India's Auditing Agency Punches Holes in Russian Sukhoi

Paper tigers, lol half the fleet is grounded, compared to them PAF is a lean mean fighting machine.
In a showdown situation the indians can always ask pakistan "hey hang on 5 mins, were servicing".
Don't give me that bullshit! Do you even know the serviceability of your so called 'mean and lean' air force? You don't! So you need to pipe down.

Even the USAF and RAF have on an average 60% aircraft operational (57-60% for the C-130Js) at any given time including the swanky new Typhoons which have a serviceability of 65-70% only. The rest are under repairs/maintenance etc.

I know mate. Never the less, situation can be improved.
The peacetime availability of the Rafale does not exceed 50% of the fleet in French Air Force. One Available and one under maintenance. This is how Aircraft are maintained you don't need 100% Availability for hundred percent war preparedness round the Clock. Even During peak Hostilities (full scale), 75% Aircraft are available with 1/4th always under "maintenance" for the need of emergency spares and scavenging, in case of immediate spares requirement. that's how its planned in the first place.

In an Perfect world, 65% of the IAF's aircraft fleets should be available for usage in wartime in short notice, the world is far from perfect. Lets put this into perspective, In January 2002 Su-30 and AF in general was facing Spares shortages, by Oct. it was done. and mind you this was in 2002. spares manufacturing has streamlined a lot in these days. We have a lead time of 4 month at Maximum today. So Yes While CAG is right in pointing this out, It's dumb as*erry to read too much into a problem that is not one.

India's autonomous auditing agency Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) says the Russian-made Su-30MKIaircraft with the Indian Air Force (IAF) suffer from poor serviceability, which is just around 55 percent to 60 percent against the prescribed norm of 75 percent.

I wonder what made people out there bring out such sensitive figures to general public for everyone to know. These figures are one of the top secret ones which just went on air at time when U are threatening your neighbor with Cold Start Doctrine on one side but portraying the dismal state of affairs of your front line fighter in particular and whole IAF in general on other side. On the other hand the timing of report release coincides with Mr Modi's visit to Russia. So it seems more like something to do with that visit actually. But would it matter?
