Indians suspect plead guilty in US multi-million dollars scam

Indians, in general, are known as scammers and fraudsters. American people are realising it and soon they will start purging their country from these scammers.

I had an Indian business partner and he started using my name to rip off my customers and when I came to know, I kicked him out and started afresh. In six months, he was on the street so he started petty crimes and eventually got caught. But even then I never thought it had anything to do with his communal traits. But subsequent experiences altered my mind.

Said that, I met a lot of good Indians who are honest, hard working and smart. However, unfortunately a majority of Indians indulge in scamming of some sort, tax evasion and other crimes.
Your generalizations I am sure had a statistically significant sample set used in your research and are not based on the bad experiences you personally faced

Pathalogical criminals robbing naive and vulnerable of their life savings. The crooked Indian mind compete neck to neck in all the fraudulent schemes with worst criminals like El Chapo.
Also leading more fortune 500 companies than any other demography in the US
The hypocrisy is baffling when on one hand you guys fight tooth and nail when people use terms like 'islamic terror' and leave no stone unturned to pass judgements based on a news article. Generalizations galore

I understand your point and I'm generally against sweeping statements that's why I have mentioned that I have met a lot of hard working, honest and smart indians.

But a general vibe about indian community in USA is not very positive despite a lot of success stories. These fortune 500 stories are few and far in between and pale in comparison to the scamming ones experienced by common people. Just check youtube and you will find plethora of videos. While the Pakistani community is famous for Doctors at one end and taxi/cab drivers at the other, Indians are knows as successful IT guys, business men at higher end while scammers on the lower end.

Sir I disagree based on the what is reported in the American media outlets:

1. https://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/26/opinion/sunday/what-drives-success.html
"Indian-Americans earn almost double the national figure (roughly $90,000 per year in median household income versus $50,000). Iranian-, Lebanese- and Chinese-Americans are also top-earners"

2. https://www8.gsb.columbia.edu/artic...singular-population-indian-immigrants-america
"Demographically, Indians represent the current largest source of new immigrants to America, surpassing even Mexicans or Chinese. Sociologically, they are by far the best educated group in the country — roughly three times more India-born residents have college degrees than the general population.
But the most striking distinction may be their economic status: Indian-American households have the single highest income level of any group in the country — more than twice as high as the general US population."

3. http://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/indian-immigrants-united-states
"Today, the majority of Indian immigrants are young and highly educated, and have strong English skills. Many work in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields"
"Compared with the overall foreign- and native-born populations, immigrants from India on average are significantly better educated, more likely to be employed in management positions, and have higher household incomes"
"Overall, Indian immigrants have much higher educational attainment compared to the foreign- and U.S.-born populations. In 2015, 77 percent of Indian adults (ages 25 and over) had a bachelor’s degree or higher, compared to 29 percent of all immigrants and 31 percent of native-born adults. Notably, among college-educated Indian immigrants, more than half had an advanced degree"

I would request you to form opinions based on good solid data and not personal experiences. Through your life, I am sure you'd meet people from my country that would leave a good impression on you.
South Asian people are hard working people by design, it's unfortunate that when a few Pakistani immigrants are involved in terror activities, the larger hard working Pakistani American population get maligned. Ditto when a scam like this surfaces.
We Indians and Pakistanis know the reality of how deeply entangled our compatriots are focusing on adding value to whichever country they emigrate to, no point disrespecting that notion

Nice statistics, but I was talking about public perception. I don't think every Joe is forming his opinion based on statistics.

When you say 'public perception' who is the public here? Anyway, you are right in saying that most people operate through confirmation biases and halos, while the actual picture might be completely different from their closely held beliefs

One or two bad experiences with Joe will change his mind forever regardless of what the statistics say. People tend to believe their personal experiences more aka first hand knowledge.

For example, Pakistan's perception in the world media is not that positive but just a few weeks ago some of my European friends visited Pakistan with me and travelled through it and braved the scorching sun ...but after meeting with the locals and finding it totally peaceful and secure, they fell in love with it and plan to return in milder season for a longer stay.

But if a single Pakistani does something bad to them, they will make up their minds until they meet some very nice Pakkistanis who change their mind.

As I said, I have met nice Indians too and they are my friends and I used to meet them once every month for a get togethers to enjoy biryani, or attending a wedding etc until I left USA.

Lol at the Pakis dancing here. The call centre fraud was broken open by Indian Pune Police after which we contacted American consulate that US citizens are being duped. Only then FBI prompted into action arresting local contacts and stuffs. And here is one guy generalising Indians as frauds. Will it be fine u guys are generalised as terrorists in US?

Personally seen how Pakistani passport holders are treated in US airports in immigration. They are the last persons to talk about other South Asians who lived in the name of Indians after 9/11. Bottomline is we are glad that the criminals are caught and I hope some 200 years in prison. Dot
whats more embarrassing is the millions on indians in IOK who on a daily pretend to be Pakistanis hoisting flags singing the Pakistani national anthem burning indian flags

Retards can't even tell the zip code...
By the way, Microsoft Service, IRS are two other names they use to scam people
But again even in scamming they target American and Pakistani in US. What a patriotic scammers ...
They got busted but what are the chances they will not resurface again. It is easy money.

American people are generally not naïve but these scums like to target the tax fraudsters, debt defaulters, illegals and other vulnerable folks.

@HAIDER @war&peace @Joe Shearer
You have no idea, since these call centers are moving away from India to other countries . These few call center convert to con center. There are many naive people living in small town and they are extremely honest. But majority of these cases appeared from Gujjo belt in India, hardly anyone from Southern call center involve in such type of scam. A good number of people in US have debt issue and very minor segment of American society deal daily with IRS on different issues . It's saying in US, you can escape from wrath of God but not from IRS. Anyway, only naive people are victim, that's the reason State moved to help those victims.

Millions? Lol. I wonder where the flags are gone in the past 2 months. No money no flags

[QHAIDER, post: 9854052, member: 1037"]interestingly , they specifically target Pakistani..... how they got all this listing of Pakistani people in US. Once I also found message in answering machine voice of Indian women with her typical Indian accent. Acting like US born... I listen the message and laugh hard... unfortunately people don't know that IRS never calls, always send documented registered mail.[/QUOTE]
.....Ppeople lists could be bought from many companies and then you can massage the data. These Indians were good in IT and had a large infrastructure to run these ops. Many tax return work also has been outsourced to india.

There are many good and intelligent Indians so are numerous scammers and con artists taking advantage to loopholes and trust in foreign countries.
Indians have been rampantly involved in various healthcare, IT, H1B Visa, and accounting frauds.
Satyam cooked acct books, etc. Here are just few samples...

Scamming Indians have been milking loopholes and inherent trust in the system to wreak all kinds of frauds, healthcare, h1b visa, accounting, and IT to name a few. There are good and intelligent Indians too like every community has.
Satyam and Computer Associate frauds are famous. And H1B Visa and healthcare are two choice targets of Indian community.
