Indian government employees in Sri Lanka have been advised by its mission to be cautious as tensions rise between the two countries.

Over the past few days, the Indian consulate in the northern province of Jaffna has collected contact details of all government employees in the country. Indian diplomats say they are concerned about possible retaliatory attacks on its workers. India was among 25 countries that voted against Sri Lanka at the UN over war crimes allegedly committed during the civil war that ended in May 2009, foreign news media has reported.

Precautionary measures should be taken to avoid any clash that can ruin Indo-Sri Lanka Relations even more.

None will get attack.
But our police will catch illegally working TN Indians :D There was a hint on daily news paper yesterday.

Thats so naughty !

I think we should try it out with the Illegal Bangladeshis & Afghans in our country too - Tell Kabul & Dhaka to not vex us otherwise we just might deport a few thousand of theirs ! :omghaha:

I was planning on vacationing in Sri Lanka. Would it be advisable to visit the country? Has any travel advisory been issued, recently?

Even I was planning, is there any problems now?

No will be no issues at all.. Many Indians keep visiting the country.. The only tension would be in TN against SL.. But that has been solved with the govt imposing a ban on all non essential travel to TN.. This is just a precautionary measure by the Indian consulate in Jaffna

Moreover recently immigration dept officials have been rounding up and deporting thousands over stayers from TN illegally working here..So this might be something to do with that.

With all the agitations and assaults going on in TN over months now.. No Indian national have been harmed or inconvenienced in SL.. Just come and enjoy your stay.. Which i'm sure you will

All are welcome to Sri Lanka except Tamils from Tamilnadu India. lol just kidding! There isn't any problem in here, free to travel anywhere in Sri Lanka. Bring nice camera, take pics as much as you can and share with the world. Also share with your TN indians they don't have much idea about Sri Lanka and Sri Lankans.

Well I have planned for Sri Lanka, with my girlfriend, for now. We have a thing for exotic beaches.

But I am a big foodie. Maybe, next time I'll try Lahore. Have heard great things about the delicacies.
