The fact that the BJP tried to abrogate Article 360 says it all lol, IOK will never be assimilated into the so called Indian union and the fact the BJP failed in its nefarious agenda further reinforces the need for a plebiscite
It is Article 370 not 360.
It was implemented by Nehru and his ilk. Not some divine force. If needed, there are parliamentary means through which the current government could integrate it with ease; all ordinances were open to the PM when he came to power. He could overrule the opposition in this matter with ease through ordinances and get it done. Nothing and I mean nothing, could stop that. Not a bunch of stone throwers, not a bunch of AK totting loonies, no one, because once integrated, the state will come under same laws as other states of the country; a Section 144 could easily be implemented where ATS and other agencies officers would raid houses, pick up suspects and finish them off before they could yell their usual tripe and no one, not even the press would be able to say anything.
But our PM didn't do that.
Instead, he sought to approach the locals and look to work collaboratively with the local state administration. In return for his gesture, he got nothing. Still he continues to persevere with the people and believes that with time and with development work and tourism, things will change.
However, when things no matter how hard he tries to help, don't change, then using force against nefarious fringe elements behind instigation is the only option left.
The problem is not the people; it is the hands which you take care of. We just need to get around them and hack them off.
Put it this way; the separatists get Z level protection from the Government of India despite their anti-national stand. They would get free travel, free housing and free facilities of hotel booking and the government would pay for them. Guess what? It is revoked now. You know what this means?
It means the moment they step out of their home, whatever happens to them is their own responsibility. Which means if say, tomorrow Geelani came to Delhi for some stupid meeting and on the way someone were to kidnap him and kill him, no one but his own actions would be to blame. The government cannot guarantee his safety and not of his family members.
Same with Yasin Malik and Mirwaiz. And imagine what these guys are now exposed to. A bunch of hormone-pumping nationalistic college kids could pick these guys off where they come and beat them to death and no one would ever know except those who or what did it.
Let's see how they survive without all the cushion and shield given to them by the hands that they bite.
