Well, yes that's expected, but you are also depressed at India's access to global weapon market. Astra missile must be very good for IAF lobbying for it instead of some imported maal they often crave for.

India's global access and huge economy only means that India is at risk of importing, importing and importing. India has had 5 decades to be self-sufficient and look where it stands: still heavily importing and heavily dependant on foreign hardware. Just take an example of India's Tejas fighter plane. It's still in limbo whereas PAF's JF-17 project with China started much later than India's Tejas and already JF-17 is combat proven/combat veteran fighter plane, which PAF will eventually have in the region of 250. Pakistan now enjoys access to some of China's most unique and unknown weapons which - like it or not - the IAF quietly fears. China is actively working on even better hardware which we will soon see enter service.

It has not. It has had state run monopolies like ofb wait on ToT, assembly work. Those companies are started to face competition. DRDO has improved a lot of late. Things are looking up for both aerospace and defence in India, though not perfect. More has been done in the last 10 years than independence to the 90s.

Majority of current indian fighter crafts are more than enough to take on and challenge PAF so instead of boosting Pakistan and solely being stuck on one day should move forward and improve and learn from that.

India also is indigenising radars and will have indigenous radar by 2022. India is already having BVRAAM indigenously made. It will be by 2025 that India will have ready indigenous solution in almost all technology

What do you mean by world standard? India is not some rag tag country without technology. When India makes anything indigenous, it will already be in world standard. India would rather take more time than to make substandard equipments

True they are preparing and Pakistan should not underestimate them and should work to keep capabilities to counter anything which India can bring in war.
