In reality, India has been trashed by China in just about anything, from GDP to Olympic, from PISA to Tank Biathlon. So Indians have to create a "Virtual India" on the net, where they could beat China, massage their ego, satisfy their "self glorifying" nature and seek recognition from the West.

It is fine if their just want to comfort each other in a brutal real world, the problems is they successfully fooled themselves into believing "the virtual reality" they created. Great topic. I noticed this common traits of indians. Bragging and exaggeration is part of indians DNA. Chinese tend to be humble and reserved while Indians are outwardedly loud and strong opinionated while lies to gain advantage at every turn. I should say lots of indians, not all. Don't want to be prejudice against all indians. But just my observations. This defines the common wisdom of India as a country and says a lot of about where India is among all other countries in today's world. Because of this different collective wisdom levels, you get a country that advances faster than others. But interesting thing is the moment they start bragging, that's when they have fears of you. They are telling you I'm afraid of you, don't get close to me since I'm strong and powerful. So next time you see they say India is better than China in this and that, they are chest thumping to hide their inner cowardliness.

OTOH, let's also talk about misconceptions and perceptions Indians have about Chinese based on my observation.

1. All Chinese don't speak English well therefore Chinese are lower class and cannot be reasoned. And Indians apparently extremely proud of themselves able to speak Inglish. (Speaking Inglish) represents the high and educated classes. This mentality are leftovers from colonial period and still largely dominate the touchables in their society. China, has not experienced colonialism in the past with long continuous history, doesn't have this trait.

2. All Chinese are kongfu masters. This common misconceptions are coming from singularly, narrow minded and poor informed indians. I'm expecting to this thinking get further enforced by the video of recent clashes.

3. Chinese are weak by showing restrains in face of challenges. Here's what they are thinking. Look, we challenged you by cross border line and send troops to stop your road building. Since you are not taking any actions and only vocally protest, you must be weak and afraid of us. Well, we are going to find out if Chinese are indeed weak or we mean what what we say and what we say is what we mean.
