On another thread about top 10 happiest countries, I stated that I have visited all those countries but I personally feel the happiest whenever I visit my parental village near Multan. There, People are content, much less materialistic, more spiritual and share little happinesses with each other...a baby born in the village gives happiness to everyone, a wedding in the village is attended by all, harvesting season, rain, Ramadan, praying together in the masjid...everything brings happiness.. Carefree "charpai" meetings with friends and laughters...really the things that make people happy which become lesser and lesser as we move to cities and especially abroad.. Pakistanis are definitely some of the happiest people in the world...our true rating has been dwarfed by the terrorism and economic issues..but both are expected to go down in future.

BTW, what makes Pakistanis happy has an opposite effect on Indians. For example CPEC: makes Pakistanis happy and Indians depressed, any good news for Pakistan makes us happy but our eastern neighbours lose some of the sleep.. So we can say that indian obsession with Pakistan is one of the reasons for their unhappiness.

Not in Equity, Employment, Anti Corruption(highest bribery rate than Pakistan), Education(due to the quotas for SC/ST, OBC caste Indians are not happy), Health(poor government run hospitals, don't mention some fancy specialty hospitals and that Pak visits these hospitals, India has the worst healthcare system in the world(government run).


No social support, no benevolence and charity, as for the slightly higher GDP per capita it is due to a very high equity of Ambanis, Adanis, Agarwals, and the likes of them, GDP per capita is the divided income of super rich of India with the total population of India ...it doesn't necessarily flows to the lowest poor of the India.

So the religion plays a positive role... Alhamdulillah, MashaAllah, SubhanAllah and InshaAllah when said with conviction, take away the unnecessary stresses, jealousy and other negative feelings and fill the heart with content.

The same report also mentions that Inia has a higher HDI & GDP per capita than Pakistan.
Only reason Indian Happiness index is lower is because of useless indices like charity, societal support.

Bhai, if that GDP per capita and HDI does not result in happiness...something is wrong.
Why do we earn? so that we live a happier life.. think about it mate..

Not surprised that India ranks so low on Happiness count. Leaving aside dirty politics see what the common man has to grapple with ... unemployment or under employment, high cost education, high cost of medication, high cost of justice, high cost of marriages, plethora of social & religious functions, corruption, rising costs, etc. On top of that came Notebandi, GST , high cost of petrol & cooking gas and Adhar linking everywhere.

all lies. Indians are very happy. So what if demonitization made us stand in quees ? so what if a few old people died thanks to demo? so what if we stood in quees to get aadhar? so what if we stood in quees to link aadhar? so what if the old and poor Indians stood for hours to link aadhar to get subsidies ? so what if the Indian soldier stands for hours patrolling the border with no amour and half ration ? so what if there are no jobs we still have pakodas ? so what if there is no development we still have fake promises .. So what if there is no peace, we have drama enough to start another communal clash.. see India is very happy .. it's ache din so we are very happy..

I watch Indian as well as Pakistani news/serials, the content is so so different. Indians mainly busy with blaming Islam or using very slang words towards pakistan, on the other side in Pakistan peoply hardly care, we have to be busy in ourself and stop minding others business. Twitter/Facebook are tools that add fire and instead of water we add fuel to it. Think about it.

Maryanmar is in a civil war and somehow ranked happier than India ?

Western deploped country's are less happy than Nepal

Pakistan ranked happier than Bhutan , a country thatb marks gdp by happiness

Iraq happier than Armenia ?

Since you don't know what makes a person happy, you won't get happy

Indians can never ever be happy as long as our society is casteist, pseudo secularist, negative minded and corrupt. Our media is perhaps the sickest of the lot and it would seem that their only intention is to keep the indian society negative. They gave nothing positive to offer. Our society has an attitudinal problem and is very selfish and doesn’t care for others. People like Lalu Prasad, Chidambaram, Maran and many such others loot the country and its poor without a thought and never get punished. Look at our unscrupulous businessmen, bankers and politicians, do they have any honest and values left in them? It makes you want to puke. Unless we as a society change and choose only merit, honesty and values and our nation before any other consideration, there is no way we will move forward let alone be happy.

Pakistan is home to homogeneous population of Islamic followers, and they (Almost all) follow a moral code within themselves. They are also blessed by Allah (PBUH). Further, they have just one name & referred to as PAK or PAKISTAN in all languages, which incidentally means PIOUS (Pavitra in Hindi).
Whereas our country follows demons, Baba, aliens, ancient ghosts & engaged in a constant eternal conflict within ourselves. There happens to be numerous lines drawn between ethnic, regional, religious& caste groups. That leaves everyone (lower, middle & upper sections of the society) vulnerable to astral conflict & victims of curses.
Further our country has three different names, and some Himalayan regions indulge in violence with the rest of the country - Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand & some north-east states don''t want to be part of India, and don''t allow settlers from other regions in their state. And some neglected undeveloped states indulge in unnecessary violence - Maoists, Naxalites & few other.
It is mayhem here. Only advantage is, which also allows everyone to follow their weird practices. The news, media, politics & even government is ruled here by biased perceptions of the SELF-PROCLAIMED RELIGIOUS GURUs, with questionable background, using fake IDs/Names.
Most renowned actors & major politicians have used fake (adopted) names to rule our country & hearts.
ADVICE : Think of a brand new single NAME for the country, most of your problems will disappear within few weeks.

or stick to 'Bharat'....isn't India denotes the 'Indus river' which history and the the current geography is all in Pakistan. And a term coined by the Britishers to a geographical area and not a country.
