I wonder what the Indian leadership is thinking right now. They are in a difficult spot tbh. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

The Chinese had been planning this thing for some time now so they had good time to study the Indians and anticipate likely response options.

The Indians, it appears, have been caught unprepared. It depends on how they see the Chinese leadership and understand them.

If the Indians think they can have a border war, they could possibly try to go for limited conflicts in selected areas where they feel they can get some sort of advantage.

It really comes down to what the Chinese wanted from this whole thing.

Wonder if de-escalation is on the cards for the Chinese, or if they are here for something bigger. Or maybe they just wanted a show of power and think they have achieved it.
