Indian tourist denied entry to Australia after 'disgusting' video found on his phone

An Indian tourist has been denied entry to Australia after an "abhorrent" video of a child being physically abused was allegedly found on his mobile phone.

Australian Border Force officers questioned the 45-year-old man, who was holding a Tourist Visa, when he arrived at Perth International Airport from Malaysia on Thursday.

The man's phone was seized and his visa subsequently cancelled.

"Although the video wasn't of a sexual nature it did show a child being physically assaulted," ABF WA regional commander Rod O'Donnell said in a statement.

"Visitors to Australia need to be aware that imagery depicting any form of child exploitation is not permitted to be brought into Australia.

"There are significant penalties and consequences for the importation of abhorrent material, and in particular child exploitation material, and anyone caught engaging in this behaviour risks forfeiting their right to be here."

The man was held at the Perth Immigration Detention Centre until his removal from the country this morning.

I get such forwards as well, to show how sometimes children are beaten by nannies or school teachers and how these things need to be tackled. doesn't say anything about the person itself.

So stupid to deny entry because of this. They should have at least tried to find out conclusively first, what the video was about and why it was on his phone.

Yes if they suspect you, or they can pull you aside and ask to see your phone, in Australia and NZ customs check phones.

Carrying a video on your phone doesn't mean you endorse it. People keep forwarding all kinds of shit on whatsapp. what if you overlooked something and forgot to delete it. Does it mean you endorse it ? Talk sense.
