Indian Torpedoes Near Ready

TAL.jpg

VARUNASTRA.jpg

Rare photos of the 2009-2010 development sea trials of (from top) India's two principal underwater weapon development programmes -- the Torpedo-Advanced Light (TAL) and the Varunastra heavyweight high speed torpedo, developed by the Naval Science & Tech Laboratory (NSTL) in Visakhapatnam. After several stops and starts, the Varunastra is to enter its user trial phase with the Indian Navy this year, while Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL), India's principal state-owned missile manufacturer, will begin delivering the first of 25 TALs to the Navy shortly.

Little is known about either programme, mostly because that's the way the government has wanted it. Scant bits of literature (sometimes inadvertent) suggests that technologies involves in both or either of the torpedo programmes include sea water actuated / silver zinc propulsion packages, contra-rotating motor and propellers, proximity sensors, HE warheads, composite material construction, stepless speed control, fibre optic guidance, floating recorder and transmitter (FRAT), noise cancellation techniques and low noise FRP propellers.

. . . . .
what are proximity sensors for?the gaps in panels and propellors would significantly reduce its range :disagree:...NSTL should have been assisted by ISRO but they decided to go there own way...now we have this liability which even russia wont buy

Why isn't this false flag banned yet ?

I really don;t see nothing wrong with his post. I mean he is pointing out an area that could possibly require closer inspection. It is always good to hear another viewpoint, instead of simply agreeing that everything is fine. That type of thinking is what has been plaguing the defence forces all these yrs.

.
^^^Bro look at what Just an Observer has highlighted! This person quotes ISRO which does not have anything to do with the designing and manufacturing of torpedoes......Nor does Rickshaw Driver know about the engineering capabilities of DRDO and the QC of the IN.

brother ISRO are experts in producing missiles....whats the big deal if we take their expertise in producing aerodynamic torpedos?

You really need to understand who is expert in what... ISRO launchers cant be used for building missile... you can use the technology what ISRO has used... you are dragging ISRO in every thread.. not sure.. what is your motive.. are you working in ISRO?

@False flagger-^^^^^Dude...ISRO does not produce Missiles,DRDO does!!Get your facts right before you troll and ruin threads!
