I have been to nepal 3 times and they love Pakistanis and hate indians. 2nd time I visited I was alone and they taxi driver from the airport was being strange....but he soon relaxed when I told him I was from Pakistan. He told me that indians land and 1st thing they ask for is where can they get girls and alcohol. Let's say the words he used to describe indians were not polite. I think "Pak" was meant to symbolize purity. And "Stan" means a place, common to many other countries. "A" for Afghanistan, that's highly unlikely.
