Indian submarine INS Sindhurakshak in distress gets Egyptian help

Not sure there must be procedures, but dived sub in international waterway of foreign country sends hostile message.Probably help was near and so didn't dive.Another cause could have been canal was shallow and narrow restricting diving.

in narrow channels and in traffic separation schemes submarines have to surface if they use them as there are shallow waters there and they must act as a normal surface ship and follow the international collision regulations..so yea they have to surface once in narrow channels unless there is a war.........

Why couldn't they dive in if the weather was bad.
I am hearing for the first time that a submarine had to be towed due to bad weather. Never heard of something like this before :undecided:
Dude, a sub cannot dive in shallow waters! :D
