Why are people wishing death penalty on him??

Sure, what he did was wrong, but he is only 20 and he made a bad mistake. People should help him recover from what he did, not wish him death. Remember, he has parents who care about him!

The least we should be doing is suggesting alternative means for him.

Let him serve his time in jail, pay the fine, and probably take some social issues and privacy classes - and he'll be back to his normal self again.

This is just another small case turned into something horrific for no reason.

Or maybe we can go by the way of Islam and stone him to death.

where does it say in Islam to stone someone for death for invading privacy? It's not been proven that he's Gay.

Sad. The guy ended up being the fall guy in a crazy society's rush to find someone to blame. How can anyone know what a teenage prank's victim would do? A teenage kid who had no problem bringing in an older guy into a room he shared with a roommate of just a few days, who could have figured he would go all sensitive & dive of the bridge. The fact that this chap refused a no jail plea bargain is indicative of someone who really didn't believe he was guilty of what he was being charged with. Maybe a stupid decision in hindsight but this is more a verdict to assuage a society's need rather than a plain case of enforcing the law.

This guy deserves to be punished for his stupidity and violation of privacy but I do not believe he meant harm and he was punished for that. I was watching the sentencing live in the news and I felt the judge let him off lightly. I was thinking 6 months to 1 year would have been appropriate.

But I was disgusted at how the Indian diaspora tried to rally support for him.

The guy is a convicted felon (15 counts). He can't even get a job at 7-Eleven or McDonalds now. A garbage collector, yes, but nothing more.

I confess that in hostel we and all our friend did all kind of such nonsense i.e. peeking from ventilator while the other guy is sh**gging off. My other friends have taken photograph from digital cameras to be deleted off later after showing it to other guys (may be a copy or two might be in somebodies archive).

I believe we were plain lucky to have escaped prosecution. By the standards of the people of forums I believe more than half of my batch-mates should have been hanged till now or stoned to death may be pushed in the river.

I think this guy was plain unlucky and the establishment decided to make an example out of him.

That kid just got away with murder(not literally). He should have broken into a bollywood dance right after judge gave his verdict.

may be he was scared tht they will also deport him after ths punishment.
