Released Indian spy to move court for compensation

RAJKOT: An Indian spy, who spent 12 years in Pakistan jail and was released recently, has decided to move the court seeking compensation from the Central government.

Buttesingh Dharamsingh alias Darshanlal, a native of Jammu, was arrested in Pakistan in March 1997 and awarded 25-year imprisonment on espionage charges.

However, he was released on June 30 this year. Darshanlal, who was here to meet M K Paul, a human rights activist working for missing defence personnel, fishermen and spies languishing in Pakistan jails, claimed that he was sent to Pakistan by Indian intelligence agencies and visited the neighbouring country twice a month.

The spy claims to have visited Pakistan nearly 14 times before being apprehended.

Since his arrest Buttesingh's family members were not given a single penny from the security agencies, he alleged.

"I was being paid Rs 12,000-15,000 per visit. I was only 28 when I was arrested. Now at age of 40, I have no job and it is difficult for me to get it at this age. Hence, I would urge the Union government to give me a permanent job and some interim compensation for maintenance till the court gives its verdict," Buttesingh demanded.

He said he was kept at Lahore and Sialkot jails and had shared the barrack with one Kuldeep Yadav who is serving a 25-year jail term in Pakistan.

Paul told PTI that Buttesingh was sent to Pakistan by Intelligence Bureau (IB) and it was its duty to monetarily compensate him for the services rendered to the nation.

The activist will soon file a petition on his behalf in the Delhi High Court seeking compensation for Buttesingh.

Why you made such a sad smilie??

Dont you remember that Indians have used Kashmir Singh as well and his family was not paid when this Indian spy was arrested in Pakistan.

Well, like the recent Russian Spies case, i think this guys needs to have a jobs at least. I mean he apparently served "His Country" and not is being thrown away.....i guess with such a large population, that's what happens...

.
In today's world he should consider lucky that he was adopted... quitely though.

What i'm surprised is that it was not mentioned in recent F.M. meet and non of Pakistani news paper reproted it!!!

.

It is sad because Pakistan spent unneccesarily too much on boarding lodging of this terrorist and very soon this scumbag will face and end like Hemant Karakary.

I'm also sad that such scumbags are infiltrating Pakistan borders conviniently and there had been no signs that indians have changed their old policy of infiltration.

Increased terrorist attacks only suggest that infiltration of indian terorists have only multiplied and they have found even more convinient ways to infiltrate. Whereas comparatively less arrests suggest they have infiltrated our interior ministry deeply, enough.

We're ready to change our policy of infiltration if you stop sending 226 terrorists who attempted entry this year. Stay out of J&K and we'll stay out of your troubled zones.

Look, separatists in both countries only want power. A Baloch leader wants the position of the PM of an independent Balochistan while a Kashmiri rebel wants to be the PM of an independent Kashmir. Using religion and language as emotions, these people brainwash youths of respective countries into joining some holy war where thousands of needless lives are ended on both sides.

Instead of wasting yours and our billions on these separatists supporting each other, don't you think it'd be better if we stop meddling in internal affairs of each other (both us in Balochistan and you in Kashmir), get rid of these separatists and develop these regions? :)

.
Which Baloch rebel are you taaking and how can you compare Balauchistan with Kashmir.
If Kashmiri get self rule that would be because of Pakistani concession otherwise it is undecided territory.
