They were lost.

Actually since we consider the entire Kashmir to be ours they were well within our airspace

seriously in all probability they were a few kms over the LOC , which was a mistake.

Shooting down one of your UAVs, depends on the 'cost benefit analysis'. Try sending a Heron , instead of cheap tactical UAVs - you'll see where it ends up.
